lapse of memory

i have read that hcv effect the short term memory which having read made me feel better because i thought i was going a bit senile and i'm only 36yo.i was just really wondering if other suffer's have had this i have thrown money out instead of rubbish and luckily my wife realised what i'd done..lol that is just one example of many i know it isn't funny its quite frightning actually but you do have to look on the light side ...thanx
