The only thing that comes back high on my blood work is tp think it stands for total protein. Does anyone know what this could mean? The level says 8.2H.  Won't see my doc for 2 weeks any help would be  greatly appreciated.

Try to stop worrying. You have less to worry about than most people here. The range for total protein on my labs is 6 to 8.5. I often get high readings from time to time and my dr. says don't worry unless they're consistently high.
Have a great day. For more info on labs try this site:

Good luck,

It sounds like it's in the normal range so I'm not sure why you are worried???

Do you have HepC?

One thing to consider when looking at any CBC's is what is considered a "normal" range for any measurement which is either high or low and how far above or below that range is the measurement in question.

While anything high or low should be noted, slight variations do not seem to be as much cause for concern as large ones.  What is slight or large seems to vary depending upon the measurement in question.

Much of this can be obtained directly from the internet often times with a simple Google, Windows Live, Yahoo, MSN, or some other search engine (Is Lycos even around still?  Hopefully it doesn't show ones age to remember the "Go Lycos" slogan and I shouldn't even mention when CompuServe was about the only place to go for for drivers and information!! ).

I just read my reply and I apologize if I sounded gruff. I have read all the other posts Big guy: you were exposed 4 years ago, you have tested negative a year after exposure, you were retested and are still negative with more sensitive tests, you have right upper quandrant pain and wonder if it's related, you wonder if you should continue testing.... I think you are o.k. but like everyone else here, I'm not a dr. You need to start worrying about hepc and focus on something positive. Best of luck in that endeavor.
