Hello

Medication can cause all kinds of problems with regards to your liver. Your liver function tests are not in the normal range however they are not in a terrible state.

Certain medication can have affects on your immune system and cause auto immune diseases. I would suggest that you return to your G.P and insist on further tests as you do not want to end up with permanent liver damage due to neglegance.

Do not worry at this point, you may have a viral infection which can cause all kinds of problems with liver funtion tests. The important thing to remember is keep on top of this, and do persist with further tests.

Good luck.

Oh one more thing in case you do not know, AST and ALK are liver enzymes. If you have too many of them they can damage your liver and cause cirrhosis which is why it is extremely important for you to keep on top of this. Bilirubin can be toxic if you have high levels of this in your blood and can lead to yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)

If you have and worries or concerns i will try and answer your questions, i am not a doctor but have suffered from liver problems since i was 11 years old. You may be given a dose of Prednisolone which is a steroid to make your liver function tests return to normal.
