low platelits

I saw a commercial on t v that was looking for heppers that had never treated before, so i called. They took my info and said they would call back...they also said that this study was lookin for heppers with low platelits....anyone have any kind of info on this....ii am quite ignorant to treatment being as i have never treated before. any inifo would be helpful???
