low wbc and neutrophils

Hi Dr D

Thank you for providing your expert knowledge to others.

I have recently switched from the Roche RO4588161 trial to SOC at 15 weeks due to not getting my 2 log by 12 weeks (actually 1.9 log) equating to 59,000VL from 4,480,000.BL.  Additionally at week 12 my white and red indicators were solid.  I now have enough evidence to suggest that I was within a 90ug PegINF tx arm during trial (first 12 weeks).  Anyway all will eventually be revealed I guess.  From week 12-15 my wbc/anc went downward and my anc is currently .6 and wbc just 1.9 with a viral load of 4,000, not bad for a baseline VL aye, shame about the other little dilemma

In Australia we have no access to subsidised rescue drugs and a shot of GCSF costs $1000+, certainly out of my reach.  My week 4 (SOC) testing will be done on Monday and I'm hoping my WBC/ANC will rebound, however if they don't is there anything other than GCSF that you could recommend to bring my WBC/ANC count up.  I don't want any reductions at this stage as I'm so close to UND after being given a bum deal with the trial. Thanks in advance for any advice. Emi

As long as your ANC stays over .500 you should be OK. We dont worry too much about those numbers. That is really great news about the viral load. Sounds like you didnt get the Ro drug either!. Good luck! DTD

Well placebo on this trial was SOC, so my guess is I got a little RO, but the lowest dose available on trial.  Not enough to deal with the reduced PegINF dose and underdosing of riba, is my guess.  Thanks D regards Emi
