Lou will probalbly post later in the day, when he gets home safely. Piece of cake/liver, wasn't it lou?

Here is another non hep c issue, or is it? I was driving "fast", to get home for my Procrit, was also worried about my kid, and had one a*hole tailing me(unrelated to me), Left lane in the expressway. Noticed a stopped car on the shoulder lane, man sticking out the door pointing something like a gun at me. I had cars in front, and  at least one a few steps behind, one  to my right and one to my left tail in the middle lane and there were cars in the right lane as well. I was clocked at 77mph and ticketed, going for court next week. Can I say I thought someone was going to shoot me and sped away, thus the speed? too far fetched?
Ok, someone please direct me to a site or book on how to fight this tckt. It will affect my SVR if I don't; so see, that makes it hep c related.

I don't think the "pointing the gun" defense is going to work.  But how about this:  See if you can get your doc to sign an Affidavit saying you suffer brain fog as a result of meds and you "forgot" what the speed limit is/was!!  Or, maybe an Affidavit saying that you suffer from riba rage.  As a result, it is necessary for you to speed so you can complete your errands as soon as possible and get off the road so you don't end up pointing a gun at all the other nimrods that don't know how to drive, so it's a protective type of thing.

True story:  I work in a law office and I received an Affidavit from an attorney on a case saying he was suffering the effects of the meds for Hep C and that is why he forgot to file his case within the statute of limitations.  He wanted the court to give him permission to file his case even though he had blown the deadline.  Attached to it was an Affidavit from his doc saying, "Yup - he has brain fog and it is entirely reasonable that he would miss a deadline".  Damned if the Court didn't allow him to file his case. If it works for a lawyer, it sure should work for a speeding ticket!

Wow! I come lurking in and a Thread with my name on it! It honestly took me a few seconds to figure it out. (Practicing for brain fog, won

I can only advise that you do not to use the meds as your defense regarding the traffic summons. By stating something like that may result in your Lic. getting temp. suspended (driving while impaired).
The first thing you need to do is review the summons for any mistake what so ever. Second, plead not guilty, get a court date.
Third, contact the Police officer, and ask exactly what kind of apparatus that was used to determine your rate of speed. Once you know the name and model # do some research like you've done on hep c. You can find out the flaws in the unit very easy, for instance something called the "Cozine Effect" which is a common flaw in many units. You want the officer to submit documentation to the court stating when the unit was last tested and serviced and you want documentation as to when the officer received his last qualification in the care and operation of the unit. Start with that.

Sorry, I have Hep c. So I quest its related to the forum now.

I was kidding when I suggested Cuteus get something from her doc saying she was impaired.  Sometimes my humor isn't as funny to everyone else as it is to me.  Sorry.  Didn't mean for anyone to think that I would want Cutie to publicly announce that she is impaired in any way, shape or form!

Fubar/Lou

I know you were only kidding about the meds but you would be surprised on how many people use something like that in court.

Lou, you should have videoed the bx and posted it for all to see.

Glad all went well

I kinda like the "fear of being shot" theory myself.  Hell, living here in the Bay Area, things like that happen all the time!  As a matter of fact, check out this article:

Driver found dead near I-280; bullet hole in car

By Kim Vo and Sandra Gonzales

Mercury News

A Belmont stockbroker, driving to his gym early Tuesday, was killed after someone apparently shot into his Mercedes on the highway near Woodside, sending the car crashing into a ravine, authorities said.

The San Mateo County coroner had not yet released the man's name late Tuesday, but a woman at the man's home confirmed that he was Mike Fields. Television reports indicated he was a broker at Wachovia Securities in San Jose.

Police said the 37-year-old was driving his black, four-door 2000 Mercedes southbound on Interstate 280. They believe the shooting occurred between 2:30 and 3 a.m. because the man usually left his home about 2 a.m. to work out at a gym near his office.

Shortly before 7 a.m., a witness saw the car at the bottom of a ravine on Runnymede Road in Woodside and called 911.

Authorities initially thought the car, which had hit a tree at high speed, was involved in an accident. They later found a bullet hole in the car and a gun in the freeway median.

Lou....You are no longer a LVR BX VIRGIN!!!!!!!
Hey, but you are another step closer to SVR.....

Cuteous:::  I like the "shooting" thing, myself.  :>)  BUT TRUE STORY:::  We had a "serial shooter" on one of our freeways this year by Columbus Ohio......he was shooting randomly for many months...he did kill one woman and damaged many cars not to mention instilling fear to all of the commuters......maybe you can say you are "gun shy" because you know someone that kept telling you about that.......  :>)))))))  Many times, though, the police officer cannot make the court date.

TY Everyone, Yes, i did not want to use the meds or Procrit/anemia defense for the reason mentioned, but...CApt...that is exactly the angle I wanted to try...the unit used, calibration, resetting bt cars, etc. TY for that search tip, and LOu I will email for your input, also.
I do llike the shooting thing. There was an incident on that expressway a couple years back, shootings, so it may be feasible.  I will write things down. This is stressing me out, I have the court date for next week, hoping for  the cop won't show up...BTW he was in an UNMARKED car, so the shooting might have more validity due to that.
Ok Thanks, and let's free the other slots for real important stuff.
Lou, you moved from cub scout to...what is the next one? TX will move you up even higher...hope you have mild damage.
I did not get a pic of my liver! Maybe I can go back and get a copy, if I promise to pay the 600. bucks for the ultrasound I stll owe them.

Glad it was a cinch, Lou.  It's always nice to have the bx in the past...that was my biggest stress, and it was so nothing.  I wasn't poked in the side...mine went in right in the middle, just under solar plexis.  Like you, I didn't need any pain meds...but I was certainly jonesing for a diet coke.
