I am just coming out of a bad time, and feel for you. Hang in there. I have a perscription for both lunesta and ambien. I use one until it fails, then the other until it fails. I was told not to use both at the same time. Went through the cycle of head drugs, then gave up. For me, eating a healthier diet and self control seems to work. If the drugs worked, I would use them.

I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rough time.  Have you considered using relaxation techniques to help yourself fall asleep--just a suggestion.  I hope you have a better day today.  Sounds like you have a lot going on--maybe this is creating part of the problem when you try to fall asleep. Do you have anything you can postpone or do you have anyone to help you?

no one is giving out medals for trying to do to much while on tx.

No one will die or be permanently emotionally scared if you say, 'Hey, i'm on chemo for a chronic. progressive, fatal blood disease, so  i'm cuttin' myself some slack.'

And you are doing your body and liver no favor by a constant assult of toxic drugs.

Diet changes-eliminate ALL caffine, eating after a certain time and cutting down on sugars-exercise changes-recent studies find that exercise helps everyone sleep better, no matter their level of fitness-and a nite time relaxation routine will do more than poison, addictive pills.

An herbal solution is melatonin.  Their are many herbal teas for sleeplessness,  I started giving myself a  footbath every night.  I still do, the reflexology benefits are good for any one.

Try some structured exercise during the day-not just running around-a caffine-free diet and a bed time routine.

All these things take a total of 20-30 mins a day.  Less time than you are currently using worrying about not sleeping.

Your body is under a lot of stress-it has to continue to live, start to heal and repair while fighting a disease w/massivew amt's of a toxic drug..

You can do more for yourself by doing less.

Herbal remedies do work for Some People and not for others.  When I was experiencing bad insomnia last year around spring, I was coming off of my previous treatment.  I tried every herbal remedy out there and none of them worked for me.  I tried Ambien, too.  I was doing the exercise thing too.  The only thing that worked for me was time.  After 5 mon. off of treatment, I finally was able to get a normal nights sleep w/o any drugs.  Now, here I am getting ready to go off of treatment again and I get to go through the insomnia thing again (probably).  Oh goody, goody, I can hardly wait!  The thing is whenever I'm coming off of treatment, I get manic.  It's like this super hyperness that occurs in my body.  Oh yea and by the way, I did the whole natural 'detoxing thing' to clean out my body from the drugs and all that did was give me a big stomachache.  I have not had any success at all with herbal medicine, so therefore I'm sticking with traditional, at least that way an MD is able to know the drugs I'm dealing with better, if something were to go wrong.  Penicillin is actually a derivative of natural (a mold) and I almost died from a reaction to it.

That must be pleasant! You better update Azgirl on the color of that.

Since I had that shot of neulasta a week ago, I have slept like a baby and have not needed my sonata.

Maybe a little tape over the mouth will help tonight;)

Hey. How are you?  Did I read in a post that you are a fan of
de islands mon? I always love the bus ride to Nagril , the smell of fresh ganja in the air , the great food on the dinner buffett at Beaches. I Havent been back there in a couple of years. Last year went to St. John , a paradise in its own right.

ya mon' love that island. I have some friends working on St. Barts and would like to go there.

We took a plane ride to Negril. Puddlejumper but we got there. The beaches are beautiful especially the sunsets on the beach.

I am doing pretty good today, first time in a week I am up and doing packing for new carpets. Sleeping 16 hours a day last week I am so glad I don't have to take any rescue drugs this week!

How about you? Are you sleeping or just catching flies?

I remember getting up early one morning at beaches resort
and going to the beach/pool bar , already open of course , and watching monkeys running around on the beach grabbing drinks from the night before that still had some left in them and downing them. Drunk Monkeys in Nagril ( I think thats a band name)

It's so weird that I have now gone from -no sleep- to-I cant keep my eyes open-. When I get up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom , its like I'm falling  asleep while I'm walking through the house  , just unbelievably sleepy.

I wake up in a new world everyday....

Good night

I went from no sleep to sleeping non stop after that neulasta. I still haven't had to take my sonata this week. I wake up pretty early but I go to sleep very early.

I was all energetic yesterday, went with John to get some new appliances. We got there ordered dishwasher, microwave, and a canopener. Then all of the sudden I was hit by a wave of exhaustion. I felt like my face was white and I could hardly talk. We had some lunch, but it took a few hours to recover.

I hate that part! I like being able to go, go, go, but it seems I can't do that anymore.

I dont remember your stats. Where are you in this adventure?

I think we are close in tx start dates. I am on shot #7 and have
genotype 1a, 4 million VL. NO bx recently. It was 1 several years ago. Started having LOTS of fatique and skin stuff last year, so decided I needed to treat.

I know what you mean about going anywhere. Just a trip to the store does me in. I got a disabled placard so I can ride the elevator at the baseball games. I feel like my color starts draining there, just walking for food. Now I just order ice cream in the seats :)

Jamacia should be interesting for 2 weeks. I am not sure why John booked us for so long. We usually go for a week. I think he is feeling neglected and lonely and thought I would be my bubbly self in Jamacia.

He's looking for his own forum now. He says my roller coaster is hard for him and he knows how good it is for me to have this forum.
Any suggestions?

I think it's that way for all of us. I feel pretty good , my wife gets excited that we are actually going to get to go somewhere , and out of nowhere, a wave of nausea and fatigue hits me , what color there was runs out of my face and all of a sudden I'm not feeling better at all. That's the part that scares me about committing to go anywhere this summer at all.
