Thanks for wishing me well!

Sonicaid had a great definition of Lymyphotic infiltrates, etc.  It's good to know that it is just associated with infections and not lymphoma.  If you find out anything else about it, please let us know.

Actually, this is a very common finding in HCV liver biopsies and does NOT mean cancer, lymphoma or anything like that.  Lymphocytes, as you all know, are just the white cells involved with chronic infection . viral infections and these aggregates of lymphocytes in liver biopsies are both common and usually resolve once the HCV virus clears with treatment.

Don't be afraid, this is slow growing.  You are lucky to have a lump, some do not get the lumps that poke out and do not know until things go really south.  You have an advantage here, that you have a sign to tell you to go and get it checked.  Look at that as a positive okay.  I am so glad you are going to get this taken care of right away.

I will pray really hard for you that it will turn out to be not much of nothing.  But, do not be scared if it turns out to be the other.  It is very, very treatable.  With my husband on his second round the doctor said that it could also turn to non hodgkins this time, but he lucked out and it did not turn in that direction.  Just another case of Hodgkins.  I have lost a few friends lately to non hodgkins.  That one is a whole different ballgame.

Please let me know your diagnosis when you get this taken care of by the doctor.  ***@**** can connect you to my hubby and I's personal connection at home.  Please feel free to contact us at anytime if you have any questions.  We will be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

Hugs, many Hugs

I was just on one of my group sites, not medical forum, and what pops up but one of our distant members has just died of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.  O.K., now I am 'sort of' freaked out.  I am calling the doctor today.  Thanks for your concern!

Pitter,

My husbands nodules were around his heart.  He had four tumors, but this is his second time around with hodgkins. He had a very aggressive case.

Now that said Hodgkins is a VERY SLOW developing disease.  The disease does not develope fast at all, but does continue to grow.  The sooner you take care of this the better change you have of beating the odds.

Anise,

Do not let the time scare you from when you found this lump.  It does grow slowly.  But, the sooner the out come of diagnosis the better and easier for you to defeat this, if that is what it is.

Good Luck to you two and I hope the outcome if better than you think.  So, go in and get the doctors to run the test.  A pet scan will show if it is a hot spot or not.

Prayers are with you,

Cajun

I have just been through Stem Cell Transfusion for Hodgkins with my husband.  I do not know all, but do know some about this disease.

Anise, this lump in you neck does not sound good to me.  My husbands first signs of Hodgkins was a lump that popped out on his neck.  And, many hodgkin cases start out with someone finding lumps in their neck.  You really need to go and have this checked out. You do not want Hodgkins to get into the bone marrow.  Hodgkins is very, very treatable, but if you let it sit and do nothing; this could turn into NON-Hodgkins, and that is the one you do not want.  It is very, very hard to treat. It can be leathal.

Lymphomas are caused from enviromental.  Most of the people who show signs of this are farm workers or any work around chemicals.  And, I really believe that all the preservatives in foods etc have a part in this disease as well.

My husband did the Standford 5 treatment the first time around, they gave him a 95% chance of beating the disease.  In three years it was back again, this time they did stem cell transfusion.  It started at the local hospital for 3 rounds of ESHAP treatment (chemo) 24 hours a day for 5 days.  Did this every three weeks.  We then gave him 900mg of Nupogen for 14 days for him to be able to harvest his own stem cell.  Then into UCLA for BEAM (chemo) 4 different types of chemo going in him in an 8 days regiment. These chemos kill everything in him.  I have never ever seen anyones counts go that low.  Some of them even go to ZERO, a very scary time.  He recieved 2 pts of blood and 2 bags of platletts before they released him last week.

This is not a fun disease at all and if not handled right can be devastating.  So, please have this lump checked out.

I have to say ideas definitely run in cycles!  I just got through reading about Lymphomas, and was going to post asking about them.  Here you are, first on the thread posting!

Having just read about Hep C and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma - there appears to be a correlation between the two.  I was wondering about a lump in my neck that I have had for years.  Never really thought about it until reading an article.

Has anyone else had Lymphoma?
