menstrual and other questions

Good Morning,
8 weeks of 48 to go. Geno 1, female, 44(almost). I'm hoping some of the ladies will email me with a big concern I have with the menses right now.  Also would like to hear from ladies how long it was before they continued dying their hair after treatment.  My email address is ***@****

Thank You, Robin

i just highlighted my hair for the first time since starting tx over a year ago...so nice to have it looking the color i love. hope it's not dangerous?

my period has been dwindling out, some months nothing. i thought early menopause too...but, perhaps it will go back to normal after tx...

use a condemn when it's here for it's lovely visit...me and bob use one all the time anyway since testing positive for hepc...just for peace of mind...looking forward to the freedom of clearing! ;O)

I can chime in about the menses (or lack thereof) - I am 15/48, and have only one period since I started tx...  but, I am in my late forties, so maybe age has something to do with it? don't know....I am going to check into this more.. I also don't know if I am PMS-ing, or actually what state my mind is in most of the time!! I guess I am just trying to let get and just go with it...
As for the hair, I do color mine, and have noticed many more grays since tx started..  I do plan to keep coloring it. It is, however, getting thinner and I have noticed more on the floor, shower, brush etc.... are we having fun yet??

robin; Lou has opened a woman's only private folder, you might want to check it out.
I am terrible at emailing, but can guess what you might need.
as for the hair, I continued dyieng it with permanent color and did not notice more hairloss than usual. A hairdresser that used to post, said to only use the non permanent kind, but I could not find it on the shelf.

I stopped using bleach before tx but used permanent dye throughout tx with no problems except the typical hair loss from tx. It was thinner but a short cut helped with that look and it did grow back after about 3 months post tx.
As for menses. Things get very messed up. Some months were very heavy, which was never the case for me before the meds, then others nothing, eventually (after perhaps 6 monhts) they totally stopped. During the heavy times I alse experienced back aches, cramps, and more PMS which were not typical for me before tx. I thought tx was causing early menopause but things did get back to normal shortly after finishing tx. The RN at my hepatologist told me right from the beginning to expect this. LL

she has one email address that she does not check as often, she should be nearing the end of Tx, how exciting!
I am sure she will stop by or if your mail did not get returned, she might get to it soon.
