monthly out of pocket costs for treatment

Hi, I have not started treatment yet, but will within the next couple of weeks. I am concerned about the out of pocket expenses for the triple drug treatment of Incivek, Pegasys and Ribavirin. I have health insurance that pays 80/20. Any ballpark dollar figures after insurance from someone who has went or going through this treatment program would be greatly appreciated!   Thanks!

No, It has a phone number for reimbusement specialist. I talked with a person that said they have co-pay assistance
. Like my co-pay is $3000 total out of pocket a year. The person at Vertex said they helped cover that with the co-pay assistance program.
Wages never entered into our coversation.

In the mean time I talked with another person in my pharmacy mail order department and they said the grant ( for lack of a better term) should pay my co-pay amount, because that is what the drug company wanted it for in the first place.

Do you have to be broke to get assistance? What income info do they want?

wow, just got a call from my insurance company and they claim any money I would get from a grant or other sources, would go to pay for the cost of the drug, not my co-pay, even though it's suppose to be " Co-Pay Assistance".

I just called the phone number on the Vertex webpage and asked for co-pay assistance.

wow, i wanna know the lady's name that told you about the $10,000 toward the Incivek!  I applied for the co-assistance, but haven't heard back yet whether I am approved.  But I was told it wouldn't help with my deductible, which is $2,500 out of pocket for me.  It will only help with the monthly co-pay, which for me, is about $310... not great, but it's better than nothing, right?

I'll be starting the triple tx sometime during the week of September 12th... I'm starting to feel like these are my last days of freedom for awhile, you know what I mean?

I just got off the phone with Vertex and they have co-pay assistance program that
( according to the lady on the phone)  gave me $10,000 towards the incivek.
This should cover my out of pocket expenses this year and if I need it next year.
It was very easy

I am still waiting for pre-auth on riba and Peg, Vic. already approved. Riba-no cost to me, Peg 40.00 mo.; Vic approx. 50.00 mo. It really depends on your ins. overage. I work like a dog for mine; be sure to look up the pharm manu coupons as mentioned above; I printed a 200.00 Vic copay for mine, so hopefully that drug will be no cost as well. Go over your RX and med costs benefits carefully; I haven't/won't until I have to tell anyone at wk about my HCV.

I have untited healthcare and I only pay $55.00 a month for all three. Vertex will pay up to 20 percent of the copay on the incevik, make sure you mention that when you get your prescription. Joe
