muscle/joint pain

I am experiencing symptoms that are similar to infection which beginning post 12 weeks of tx (48 weeks 1a genotype). I feel muscle/joint pain and it is migrating from place to place. They are always localized to the arms and legs. I experience the discomfort the most when my body is at rest. When I am moving around I feel perfectly fine. My question is, during infection, the joint/muscle pain symptom, is it migratory. How severe and does it only show when the body is at rest?

everything has some level of toxicity, take what works for you. It is worse to live with the ill effects of hep c. I took the sister med of vicodin; vicoprofen, ibuprofen instead of tylenol works better for me.
don't fret too much about the upcoming Tx.  you might do better than some.

hi,

i am starting peg treatment in sept and am real worried about depression and pain causing me to give up on treatment. my friend was so depressed they took him off treatment and he died 5 years later. i would like to get started on antidepressants now so i will not have to deal with it when i am sick. are vicodin not toxic? thanks and hang in there.

I have to agree with OHC. If for some reason your liver doctor can't or won't give you pain meds than go to your primary. I too was given vicodin. 7.5/750 strength and was allowed to take 8 per week. I didn't always need or take that many, but it was comforting to know that I had them in case the bone pain did get that bad. These meds are strong that you are on and there with everything that you are going through there is no reason to suffer that much if the doctors can help you out with the sides.Just make sure that all of your doctors are on the same page, and that they are working together. Good luck.

tough one there girl!  we had a thread while back about dental problems and bone loss in the jaw(dollface and someone else), I had tons of cavities and couple fractured teeth prior to tx and a couple more afterwards, So sickening to feel the holes in those two molars, I wish someone would invent something other than extractions! grrr!
I too still have my joint aches (tolerable and there prior to tx) but I was still negative at my 6 month PCR, so I will take whatever leftovers are there, TG my thyroid held well after 72 shots!
Have you heard from Kimmy? or mikesimon? we are worried about him,\
enjoy the retirement as much as you can, make lemonade with those lemons they gave you!
be well

Life is pretty good, I had to retire though, my mind isn't right LOL, that's an understatement.  My fatigue, muscle weakness and forgetfulness/inability to stay on task caused me to give up the nursing career.  I have PPS Post polio syndrome also, so all that isnt just the result of tx.  I have hypothyroid, permanent ringing in my ears, and some bone loss, (enough to go on those pills for preventing osteoporosis...but I am taking calcium for the time being) and I dont know what else from tx. Oh ya, my jaw ached a lot after I finished tx, and I am still going thru a bunch of dental work 1/4 - 1 yr post tx. dont kno if there is any connection there. Need to get my one yr pcr done.
Can ya tell my mind wanders? rambling on? tis true. :(
Hugs and all that jazz.

Hey this is OHC and I am a veteran of tx.  Yes the joint pains and aches can be horrible!  I wanted some STRONG pain killers in those early weeks, but my dang doc just wouldnt give me any...here he is a Liver doc/ no compassion.
Finally into the 10th week or so he got tired of me asking for pain meds, itch meds, depression, anger, and so forth, (and the motrin/ibuprofen/tylenol wasnt doing crapola), he said "ask your primary doc to take care of your sides"!!!  Good grief.
And my family doc gave me the Vicodan which helped immensely.
The docs are afraid I spose of addiction, but lordy, getting ya thru tx rather than taking you off it cuz the pain is so awful and ya quit tx...well long story short, I am not addicted.and I wasnt. just got thru tx.  BUT THEY say, let your doctor know what you are experiencing, cuz we tend to blame EVERY symptom on tx and it very well COULD be something else! so tell your doc, even if the guy is tired of hearing from ya, you are paying him! and you can fire him if you arent happy with him.
Some will tell ya adios, others will do whatever they can to keep you as their patient, they don't want word of mouth giving them a bad rep (huge egos run rampant in the medical doctor field, no offense to those good ones!)

HI SOON as I seen your thread I was anxious to respond. Iam on 2nd shot and the muscle and joint pain is horrific with me. I dont have any answers and need some answers too. My MD says its the toxins, the medicines. BUT the first shot was HEll.The ache and pain went through the joints so bad I almost went to ER. My MD gave me darvocet and for 2 days I had to take them causeThe hip was so bad I COULD NOT LAY DOWN FLAT. I could not sleep for 2 days. IT was so painful through joints. ITS like a labor pain that never stops or a tooth ache that never gets pulled. I am 52 and figure its harder on me as I do have arthritis.  The muscle aches are the same ,  I took warm bathes and heating pad too. I  wish I had some answers for us.I dont ev,en know what migratory is? Is it a infection? I am type 1 and am on a high high dose. PEGINTRON and rebetol 1200 a day, if you find out any thing let us know. THANKS FOR BEING HERE TO LISTEN , AUBBIE
