my Hepatitis Results came back!!

I just got a call from my doctor's office and they told me that my results are Negative for Hep.

Then she tells me that I need to go through all my shots for Hep B all over again since I missed the sequence between my first two shots.  I asked her if this was going to be an overdose, she said no.  Strange.  I wonder if I need a second opinion or I should just take her words for it.

I am so worried about this all.

"but then I read that Hep C is never transmitted in such manner or is not considered a STD"

Hep C is POSSIBLY transmitted sexually (both parties need to be openly bleeding) -- it is a blood to blood disease... Not bodily fluid (lubrication, semen, saliva) unless those fluids carry blood in them at the time...

So - it is NOT an STD --- but there is like less than 2% chance of contagion from sex.

It happens - but is VERY rare.

You all are correct.  I need to calm down about this and take the doc's words and do good to others.

It's very conforting to hear your replies to me.  It really calms me and reassures me, and everyone of you have very good knowledge to provide as well.  Thank God that there wont be an overdose of Hep Shots in me.

I don't drink alcohol, I don't take any medication 'at all', I don't even use IV drugs....so it was a bit odd to know that my enzymes were up twice in both blood reports, but they could have been fluctuating; I guess like everyone said.  I am kind of attracted to junk food sometimes and soda...possibly that's why?

I was also concerned about Hepatitis (A,B,C) through sexual contact, but then I read that Hep C is never transmitted in such manner or is not considered a STD.  It is all crazy now that I think about it...These past few months have been a complete wreck for me.

I'll definitely take the advice here and get active.  You guys are truly wonderful and do good by giving proper information...and I can say that again. :-)

Liver Enzymes go up and down all the time...

Tylenol, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Vitamins, Diet Drinks, other medicines ingested, foods you eat, sugars you eat, alcohol.... etc.... can all make your enzymes fluctuate. They are ENZYMES....

They are different in every person.

For me --- mine were normal ---- and I had damage... I was ill... high normal, but normal range.

So chill --- chill --- you don't have HCV --- you should just probably go get your shot series and you should have a great life... stay HCV free...

And what you've learned on this board, take it with you ---- treat others  who DO have HCV with compassion and help... show them the right way --- teach them what you know --- help where you can --- get active, volunteer at hospice centers --- donate some of your time to red cross... do something with your knowledge.

Don't worry about taking the hep shot series twice.  I used to work in foster care and there were many times when kids had to be vaccinated twice because we were unable to access their immunization records.

Liver enzymes can go up for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is damage due to drinking or other viruses which are transient.  The enzymes also come down again when the virus passes or the other source of damage is no longer present.  The great thing for you is that your HEP TEST IS NEGATIVE!  Trust me when I tell you that I wish I was in your shoes :)

I had to take my hepatitis B shot series twice. The first time it didn't take.

go and enjoy your life. this "liver" chapter is over. i have a feeling no matter what anyone says here you will still not let this go and get a 2nd opinion anyway. whatever makes you feel better do it. good luck to you.

PS, goggle "hepatitis vaccine dosing" and you will read how if a vaccine does not take you have to do it over with NO ill effect.

Thank You so much for your support!  I guess my words can't express my gratitude in ways I want to express them to you all because your feedback, responses, and intellegence on the forum has definitely given me something to look back for some advice and knowledge.  It really has helped me.

To tell you the truth, hearing all your response today about my overdose of Hep. Shots really really gives me comfort.

I am still concerned though. :-(   WHY in the world would my enzymes be elevated!?!?!  Is it normal?  I have done even Ultra Sound on my liver!  My doctor tells me it is normal, and I hope she is right.  I hate to doubt, but I am concerned about my body too.  Afterall, doctors are humans, not with a magic wand?

I was even thinking of getting a second opinion and get another Hep. Panel to make sure.  I don't know if I am overreacting. :-(

Great news!  You should feel relieved...they only thing I would suggest right now is if the enzymes remain elevated to see a liver doctor and let them follow up with further testing...something made that enzyme go up...if not Hep...follow up with liver Dr.  otherwise....good news for you!

Well, for you, this is now over, kid.

You have nothing else to worry about now, so this is a closed issue.

Shots are to build antibodies. You can't overdose on it.
