Sorry I didn't know your history or the slang for Creole citizens of Lousiana so thanks for the education. There are so many threads I miss a lot. Taking a break from tx lowers your SVR chances as you probably know but a person on their 4th try might have a different view or might not really be concerned about a week break and there probably are no studies of such a situation. DO you mean you have treated 4 times in a row? Or did you have breaks in between? I think in any instance of tx, be it the first or the 4th, taking a break from the meds lowers the chance of clearing but the goals of tx isn't only to clear the virus, it can also improve liver histology so maybe clearing isnt the only thing you are concerned with, I don't know nor do I know your level of damage. I do know taking breaks lowers your chances of success.

Sorry so long to responde. I've been out of town. A coon@ss is someone of Cajun decent. We call ourselves that and think nothing of anyone else doing so. We are a mixture of four nationalities and some even say creole but the later is what's preferred and it's not a bad word even when someone outside says it. But I have learned that when you leave the realms of the border of Louisiana that you just don't use that word. Obviously it means something totally different to others not from Louisiana. Anyway back to treatment. I started it back today. Why would it hurt me to be off just for a week, which I was. You seemed to have know something I don't and I wish you'd share. I really just had to take a break and get it together about weather I wanted to continue. Remember this is my 4 th try. I didn't know that I was responding so well this time or I might not have gotten off. You know how it takes that week to get the blood work back. But really what happens when you take a break. I have a cruise in Dec and I'd planned on taking a breatk then also.

Hi there,

Fishdoc is pretty close at describing this.  I am from Louisiana and the statements are relating to cajuns, coona**es.  The way of putting the speach is the way it would sound like if my grandparents spoke it in broken english. My relatives were Acadian French.  I can see if someone did not grow up there would see this in a different light so to speak.

It is kind of a crazy thing but do not take offense. It is part of the culture.  It is just the context that sounds rough if you are not from there.

I took no offense to the statement.  Maybe my explaination will help you to not be offensive.

I do believe folks from louisiana call themselves "coon@ss"... I wouldn't know how it is taken there or elsewhere, but it can be easy to offend.  I spent two years in Georgia, but where I come from, it is very common to say "Oh, thats his boy".. which was offensive in the South, but in the southwest it means your son, or someone that fills that role...I offended folks down there, because the vernacular was different..  Have you ever seen the movie "Caseys Shadow" ....its actually about a horse they call the "coon@ss colt" that goes to my neck of the woods to run in the all american futurity......its a good movie... and where I heard that reference....could be BS, who knows... BTW, how you doin?  (in joeys voice)..

oh good LOL glad you weren't offended.
Hope you are doing OK how much longer do you have? Nice weather we are having today. Are you getting a lot of smoke there? It is clear here but you can see it over the mountains. Scary big fire we are having. I heard today it is the biggest in California history, now that is a BIg fire.

You can't "take a break" from tx. It will seriously compromise your chances of clearing the virus. You have to make the commitment to tx for the entire time and yo can not take "breaks" or you might as well just stop altogether.
I am not sure what you intended with the post you made about "coons" but it was offensive to me. The only connotation of "coon" that I know of is very derogatory. Please explain.

Grand Oak will keep us in line. I'll be gone for a week but think about me. And contrary to popular consensus I'll be praying for everyone. Don't worry I won't post any scriptures. Grand Oak you inspire me with your wisdom. Keep it up.
