Hi Sally,
I struggled with some Nausea too, although now I never do.  It was the worst in the beginning.
I used Ginger tea, "real" ginger ale, candy etc...  You can get good ginger candy in Asian markets (watch out!  Potent stuff!).
I know it's also hard when you feel yucky to try anything, but for me they did help. Believe it or not, eating helped a lot, even when I had to try to choke something down. I never once actually got sick, or threw up.
Get used to being tired.  Remember everyday is a new one.  Good days and not so good days.
Hang in there!

Looks like your into your third week. Make sure your taking food with your Riba it always helped me with the nasuea. If that don't help bill had some good ideals. As for being tired your HGB might be starting to go down which is a good sign. Talk to your doctor and welcome to the forum.

Hi Sally,

It sounds like you’re beginning to feel some of the side effects. Call the doctor and report them; are you in a study? Ask for an anti-emetic; there are a number of them to work with, and some of them are fairly effective. Some are even available in suppository form, in case you’re having a hard time keeping things down. Also, ginger root helps some people; try brewing a tea, or buying candied ginger… in fact, you might try this first, before any Rx drugs.

Sleep; the most effective sleep aid you’re gong to get is probably mild exercise; it doesn’t have to be strenuous. Also, a supplement called melatonin, bought in a health food store. You can try benadryl too, it’s an antihistamine and available generically as ‘diphenhydramine’ in the local drug store OTC. Prescription aids like Lunesta and Ambien work VERY well; I think Ambien is available now in generic form.

That’s something to start with; others will most likely offer some other thoughts as well. Hope you feel better as the week wears on—

Bill
