need help regards infection??

I live in Egypt, here there is a 40% of the population suffering from hcv.
my problem is that recently I started to feel a pain in my teeth and I am afraid to death
from infection as the hospitals are very poor and the doctors are not skilled enough.
and I think or iam sure that I will get infected from the poor sterilization and due to the high
percent of hcv which is 40%(36 million out of 90 millions)
1- can I make any thing to treat my teeth instead of going to the hospital?
2- can I buy the tools that the dentist will use in my mouth instead of using his tools?
3-is there anything that I can do to protect my self from infection?

Hi, I am shocked about the amount of people who have HCV in your country.  I am so sorry.  I don't know if you need work immediately which the above suggestions would help your; or could your teeth be sensitive?  I use a toothpaste called Sensodyne Pronamel.  I guess, if you don't have it there you could order off of Amazon.
It is a good tooth paste for sensitive teeth, it takes a few times to start working.  Also, I read where you can put on the sensitive teeth for a few minutes to help speed up the work it will do.
Also rinsing your mouth with salt water is good.  I also use a water pick with a bit of peroxide in the water.
Good luck to you, Dee

I'm so sorry you have this problem in Egypt.   New treatment for Genotype 4 is or will shortly be available.   I expect that many will begin treatment and be concerned about re-infection.  Many will want to go to a dentist that practices
Sterilization of all equipment in dental care.   I'm sure it's warranted that you have your own personal tools for examination.   You might ask your dentist what you should purchase.   If you have to have extensive dental work you
might research dentists outside your country.  Or dentist in your country who have presented a commitment to stop the spread of Hepatitis C. Ask how and with what they sterilize equipment and tools.   I can only imagine what you are dealing with.   Remember that you should keep all your personal items to yourself.  Shaver, tooth brushes, nail clippers due to the transmission of Hepatitis C by blood.  Due to the high amount of people infected there....I would always practice good hygiene everywhere.

I'm in the United States where we have universal precautions.  I expect Egypt will be going in that direction in the future.

I hope this is helpful
