Hi there, sounds like we are going through the same thing. I have had neupogen sitting in my fridge just waiting for the DR to tell me to use it. My wbc was 1.6 and anc has been 0.5 it went up last week to wbc 1.9 and anc 0.9. I went for new labs yesterday and i should get results this afternoon. Neupogen is suppose to help raise your ANC but from what i have read on this board from Jim and a few other people different doctors have differing views on when to take neuprogen. I'm sure you will get alot of ansers from everyone. Keep in touch and let me know if you end up taking it.
ANC is a result computed using the WBC and the Neutrophil count, which reflects your bodies response to biological infections or inflamatory disease (sorry, there is no blood measurement for how your body responds to inflamatory postings ;-). So, yes, an increase in WBC will result in an increase of the ANC.
You may have also seen references to ANC using a hundreds value instead of a point value, as you did in your post.
Basically 0.7 = 700 when it comes to these discussions.

GrandOak Thank you. Yes I did wonder about the numbers being point something instead of the hundreds and it explains a few things
Snowbyrd: I actually have quite a bit of neupogen in the fridge too, but not the go ahead to take it. I am seeing a new hepotologist on Thursday and I will let you know his thoughts. I am seeing someone new BTW because he is new to the area and therefore local. My hepotologist now is very good and I trust him a lot but is 5 hours away.
