Hate to but in, but...I went to my doc today and because I'm in this study they do blood tests every two weeks initially. Anyway, I dropped from 3,000,000 week 2 to 120,000 week 4. Is this a significant enough response do you think? Should I have expected nondectable results this soon - meaning that I'm a slow responder? Thanks for any answers!!

Anybody have any stats on when post treatment relapses happen? In other words, if a relapse is going to happen, what percentage occurs at the first month, third month, or sixth month mark?  Thanks in advance.

Just noticed that Philaguy posted the same question on 12/9.

Finished treatment at the end of November, still negative at the 4 week post treatment PCR.  Was 3a did 48 weeks.

This waiting is almost as bad as the treatment.  Well...not really, but it's pretty damn nerve wracking.

At that rate I would think that you would easily clear by week 12.So I doubt you will be a slow responder. Others more knowledgable may give more info.

Hi! I'm butting in too. Went to the doctor today and he said he had just returned from a conference on hep c and they came to the conclusion if you are a genotype 2 and become undectible by 4 weeks that there is no difference in svr of doing 16 weeks versus 24 weeks. And seeing as how I'm on my 21 week I ask if I could quit today rather than in 3 weeks and of course he wouldn't say it was ok, just that there's no difference. So, I'm done. He said I would need a recheck in 3 months and at 6 months but he didn't expect any problems. I also took into account that my liver is in pretty good shape, minimal inflamation (inflammation). I guess I'm just looking for your thoughts. I respect all of your opinions.

the link at the bottom of the 'Current Therapies' list at this URL, posts the result of doing pcr at 3 month to determine svr

Thanks for your encouraging comments. I am in a study testing 1.5 vs 1.0 peg-intron, so I'm not sure of the dose. I'm hoping that it is 1.5 obviously. I am doing 800 mg of ribaviron and am 1a. Again thanks.  Jo
