Also,,was a big chunk out of pocket book?  Everything I have read about interferon,,,is hair loss but won't make you go bald but am concerned because it still is coming out everywhere!  Don't know how long it will continue before,,,I am bald! So just thinking maybe,,,I should have something ordered just in case! thanks for any info!

bald can be sexy more surface area to stimulate. Iknow get my mind out of the gutter or move over;it's getting crowded and stop standing on my fingers.
newsflash..Washington it was announced today that because george w is so busy doing the work of three people he deserves
appropriate raise. no comment from curly larry or moe on taking over their positions.

NO, NO, don't throw it to the birds...I had a nest of sterlings in my dryer vent and one of the babies was unable to fly away...it flew to heaven instead...his little leg was caught in a strand of hair mama or dada used for the nest...tightly bound around his tiny claw...you girls don't want to add guilt to your collection of problems...do ya? or maybe the geese is smarter up north and they have learned to make wigs out of discarded strands...and now will waddle about in the new "ring a look"...nes pas?
My hair is very thin, but no bald spots at wk 50.

kimmy, how ya doing? it sounds like you can relate to my hair problems...i know exactly what your talkin about...bummer and freaky isn't it?  yes, i'm not sure what "good cause" i'll be donating my "baggies" of hair to....the bird nest idea sounds good...unless they eat it,then they may get sick from the residue of the tx!!! maybe i'll just glue it back on when tx is over...

the "human hair" wig...that is what i want...was it hard to arrange and was it expensive? did you have to go somewhere special for it? did insurance pay? where did you go...how much was it? (you don't have to answer that!)are they hot on your head, i wonder? how does it stay up there?

i have so many questions about this wig thing...i wonder if you can steer me in the right direction...i'm only allowed one wig per lifetime...per insurance...so i want to get the right thing...in case i never get my hair back...which i may not...not because of tx but because my mom had little hair left when she died...so it could be a genetic thing for me anyway....i'm at the age she started losing her hair....she also had liver disease and i often wonder if hair loss could be related to that as well...

any help about the wig thing would be good to know...thanks kimmy!

Just went and got my shoulder length hair cut off last night.  It was too hard emotionally to look at that dead rat in the shower drain every day.  Glad I cut it.  Everyone says it looks better than that nasty ol thin stuff hanging in wisps here and there.  But I miss my hair.  I hope it grows back at the end of treatment (in, gee, only 27 more weeks!)  I'm getting very bored with this whole stick me once a week -drink way more water than a human should even consider-take pills on time routine.  I'll stick with it, but sometimes it's just so damned hard.  I know, I know, it will be worth it when I am SVR (and I'm sure I will be), but on the day-to-day business, it's getting to be very, very old.

I finished tx 3 1/2 months ago. During tx I lost at least half of my hair which was quite thin to start with.
Within a week of finishing tx I noticed a change.
Not so dry and a fine fuzz of new growth.
It is growing really quick now the only problem is that the short growth tends to stand straight up, poking through the longer hair.
Hopefully this will encourage a new fashion!
I'm so glad that it is growing back and that tx is fast becoming a distant memory.
Best wishes
Joanna

Hey here is the plan for the wig
my brother went bald at around 12 nervous disorder
mom and dad got him a wig and he had the worst time keeping it on with sports and all he tried spirit gum that worked ok but in wrestling it came off so he went to double sided carpet tape stayed stuck even in the pool.
a few years later he ditched the wig and has been a happy bald man ever since
if you still have hair i do NOT sugest the carpet tape
best of luck to you

darn it scott, i just spent hours looking for the thread that had the url for the ignoble prizes and now i have to go find a tupperware pty.  I don't remember the story....not fair.

tnguy; I asked if i was to continue the same dosage 180mcg/1000mg and he said yes. I kind of wanted to lower the riba to 800mg. I wonder if they put my chart in a different section now, and how much do they discuss with their colleagues? They know Dr. Douglas Dieterich, whom I had contacted for a consult when looking to extend. He is with the Mt Sinai System. and my practice is part of the Long Island Jewish sYstem.  I am just glad to be able to continue as long as my body takes me.
I had some question about my bloodwork, but can't remember what i did with my copy, i hope i did not forget it at work in some client's chart.

Honey; as you see from above, extension to 72 mark. I had other things to say but they slipped or seeped out of my mind.  it happens quick too. When i'm on the phone listening to the menu...press this or that...by the time i decide the other options are not it...i forget what number i was supposed to press and have to listen to the whole thing again. when i'm writing here i have two windows...the one i am typing and the one i am answering...I am tired of the fog, the h2o, the skin/hair...22 more of this? aaaggghh!

Ok, leave the birds alone, Cuteous is right, we don't want to hurt them.  But, how about attaching your hair in ponytail fashion to the back of your riding helmet and maybe a little at the front as a fringe. (bangs). Could work!

I agree with you Scott, Layla's Tupperware party had me laughing out loud but also gave me flashbacks.  All in all it sounds like a great party but one you're so happy you weren't invited to:).

honey, fubarcat, lvdbyGod, etc..ok...hope i don't forget anyones questions....initially i bought a synthetic wig...and had a riot doing so with a girlfriend, whole other big comical story...well...after wearing it exactly 3 times...it looked like..**** and 'synthetic'!!! so when my hair really started to desperatly thin and fall out i decided to do some digging and found out that human hair wigs last for several years,( average 2yrs with gareentee) the base is ultra thin and flexible so as not to be as uncomfortable, you can wash them, style them, color them etc...and good news is all the cash you'll save on getting the 'roots' done!! i finally found on the net a salon that provides custom made ones..i had to really weed through alot of junk first.  search wigs...then, human hair.  there is a rather large salon group in the U.S. that provides this, but i forget the name...i'll try and look again. finally i found a salon in toronto...(hey derail, i'm crashing on your couch okay!! haha)i asked all the stuff you are asking.  yes they match to your hair color or any color you wish as it is human a tech will do this, but must be experienced in doing so with wigs.  no referral needed.  i am paying for it myself.  i finally found the exact one i want and it is identical to what i started with!!  the cost is 1000.00 plus tax...i was afraid to ask if that was USD or CND. they can run as high as 2grand though. they will adjust it to fit me when i get to the salon, this takes a day or so. think thats all the questions...let me know if i forgot to answer something pls.

cuteus....thanks for that, never thought about the birds in my dryer vent!! 2 words babe, 'clothes line'...just kidding...thanks, good point!
gonagetbet, wow, carpet tape..OUCH.humm....let me consider that a moment. ummm NO!  amerabrit...yah, i'll rig something up for riding so i don't put un nessisary strain on it....but what about .....?????? oh never mind haha

fubarcat, wow, 21 under your belt now dear.  that was a really tough time for me too.  i would burst into tears at the thought of just ONE MORE FRIKKEN INJECTION...i felt angry, disillusioned and just fed up with it all and actually almost stopped...  fortunately i had 24 weeks, i have enormous respect for all of you that do 48 and MORE!!

hugs all
kimmy

p.s. where was the tupper party????.damn see, i knew i was missing out on all the fun sh5t while i was away....

I love hairpieces!!! I have "collected" them for years.  Long, short, blond, redhead, brunette...I used to love wearing "falls" but now my hair is too thin to attach one of those.  About "attaching" the wigs.  They are adjustable, so you can loosen or tighten for the best fit.  Also, they make "transition pieces" too.  These are great.  You pull strands of your own hair through special openings and you "weave" your own hair in.  With these pieces, you can go lighter or darker because it looks like streaking or frosted hair......and toppers.  If you wear your hair on top of your head in an upsweep, you can put on a realy nice "topper" for some style.  Very EASY.......
I order wigs through "Paula Young" or "Beauty Trends" (good prices and sales too).(Disclaimer:  I am not promoting one or the other..:>)  I also purchase them at my local wig shops.....I have both human hair and synthetic, and truthfully, my friends cannot even tell I am wearing a wig.  If you choose the right color and style, the synthetics are really great choices these days.

LAYLA:::::::  Let me know when you will be hosting your next Tupperware Party..........I like your party style...hahahah:>)

PeeBee, if you're gonna disrespect my Michael Jackson thread, then all I can say is:

        "DAMN YOUR EYES"   :-)

Don't anybody freak out on me, cause if he's gonna use that moniker then he'll get the joke. :-}
