It's only now begun Phase I studies.  Sounds like it could be great, but at this point it's really anyone's guess as to whether it will prove safe and efficacious on humans.

Here's a couple of new drugs about to be on the market for Hep C treatment.
1.  Telepravir
2.  Bocepavir

No treatment currently is done without the routine Interferon and ribavirin.  These have to be the most toxic things ever to enter my body.  One will wonder if the cure is worse than the disease.  It takes a lot resolve to make it through the 48 weeks of treatment and you must be able to summon much resolve to make it.  And then you're only gonna have a 50% chance of remaining cured.  I did it and ended up in the non-responding group.Talk about hard to handle and feeling like I had a stake driven into my heart.  Only the strong will survive-you have to be determined and a little bit lucky to be cured.

I, too, went through the Hep C tx of pegantron in2001. It did not work and my current PCP wants me to try the treatment again. I so do not want to do that. Unless it has been proven to be more effective than last time. I agree with your comments on the effects of the tx. Many times I thought the tx was way worse than the disease had ever been.
