Increased sweatingSweating Sweating - absent in day and night sweats are common with hep C (with any chronic illness really) but most definite with hep C. Can be very uncomfortable (30 degrees outside and sweating) and sweating quicker on exertion, or wake up and be flipping the pillow over to dry side, and then flip it over again during next wake up call or grab pillow on the other side. All the sweating doesn't necessarily mean anything "bad" is going on (or that something is worse); it's just a common complaint. Could mean low-grade temp (common with hep) but you might have fever at all during these sweaty days. Ask doc - check your temp. It might come and go - you might notice increased sweating for 2 - 3 months and then it'll go away, and then it'll come again for another month, off and on - seems to do that. Guess one could say it's a sweating good time having hep C. -)
I used to have night sweats before I treated. I thought it was menopause, but it was Hep C. I am SVR now, still going through menopause, but no night sweats. I'm convinced it was the hep C. I didn't have any night sweats during treatment either.
I am SVR also and still get the sweats, night, day, in the car, inside the house & outside the house. I have been burning the woodburner and leaving the screen door open, seems to level things out LOL
I'm a male & was first diagnosed with Hep C because of my night sweats, which started, I believe, shortly after I was exposed. The 10-day run or so of DRENCHING night sweats has never happened since, though I get the occasional one here or there. My dr told me that the sweats can be a result of the immune system trying to fight off the virus (in vain I guess, as I'm chronic). I did notice that, immediately after I recovered from the flu two months ago, I had a 3-day run of night sweats; maybe my immune system was in overdrive from trying to fight off 2 viruses at once!
I have horrible night sweats most nights. Have to wash and change my sheets and matress pads 1 to 2 times a week, wash the pillows, etc.
