Besides Tampa General, you might also look into USF.

I live in springhill and go to Lifelink in Tampa right next to Tampa general they have a great program and they are up on everything new. I don't know if they have any assistance programs but Merck  has some type of help programs. Please give Lifelink a call there number is 800-844-9302. Good luck. Joe

If you can get the pharmacuetical companies to cover the cost of your medications there are places like Patient Access Network that will help pay the cost of the doctors and testing. PAN may also help pay for medications, first you need to see about state aid and seeing if the drug companies will pay for anything or all of the medication then when you have exhausted that help and have everything you can from them then you move on to using nonprofit organiztions like Patient Access Network to pay for the rest. You don't want to use places like that unless you have to because they have limited funding each year and when they run out of money that is it and it can limit the help they can give to others. I just did a search for Florida Medicaid and found the website you need that has the application. I've listed it below, this is step one, contact them, turn in the application and anything else they ask for even if it says you have to have things you may not have TURN IT IN then when you get a case worker they will work with you on everything you need to have and do.

Seeing that you live in Tampa you should be able to find a clinical trial that might fit your needs, or you can apply thru the drug companies for free drugs but you would still have the cost of a doctor. Here is the website to search all clical trials in the US. If you need the contact numbers for the drug companies just let me know. Also you may be able to apply for medical help thru the state, I'm not sure about florida though.

Each state has medicaid you can apply for, I'm not sure what it would be called in Florida but in Kentcuky it is called KTAP. Your local cabinet for health and family services would be who you should contact. Depending on your income, if you have children and so on they will approve you or give you other alternatives. Medicaid will not pay for the newest treatment with incivek yet but they do cover the cost of ribavarin and pegasys. The key is you need to contact them immediately. What ever government office you go to to apply for food stamps is also who can help you with medicaid. There are also non-profit organizations that can help you and you can get more information on those online or from your doctor. There are all kinds of programs and organizations you just have to look for them. You can also contact local area ministries many of them have access to these networks and can help you apply for asistance. You can also try contacting the pharmacuetical company Genentech who makes pegasys and ribavarin they may be able to help you. I hope this helps! Best of luck
