Bill,

First they don't want our blood, now this!
At least you got turned down by UC.
City College won't even take my body. Dead or alive! %#@#!!!

I hate the rejection!

Unfortunately, you will carry the HCV antibodies for a long time; probably for life. This status will preclude donation of blood/plasma, regardless of HCV RNA status.

I recently inquired about donating my body for research purposes to the University of California, and was routinely denied. I informally appealed this decision, without luck.

Kind hearted of you to ask; I have heard that some facilities might take organ donation to other HCV-infected patients in a pinch, but I’ve yet to find one.

My liver wouldn’t be considered a hot item anyway :o).

Take care—

Bill
