Good for you! Congratz!

I'm on week 11 and haven't lost any weight at all. I purposely ate like a pig before starting tx and put on 10lbs thinking that I would lose during tx. My appetite is great and I think that all the lazing about due to lack of energy stops me losing any. I'm not complaining being too thin is painful!
Congratulations, I'm sure you both must be very relieved. One battle won, and more to come,,,,keep fighting the dragon and we will all be winners!!!!!! berlynn
the weight loss we all experience during treatment is due to
the fact that we lose muscle mass.the wonderful peg/riba combo
produces this lovely effect.you should be able to see the atrophy of muscle within 4-6 weeks.also loss of appitite can play a sig. role.however there's no getting around the loss of muscle mass.good news is that after the poison dissipates the cells regenerate.also, great news senor bill hope more good news is in store.
Great one Bill I'm happy to see the first part of your success story come true :) part 2 of your success story coming soon ...Stay Focused On The Goal...</font>

Hi mrbill,
I guess she's a keeper now!
;o) LOL
I wish you both the very best, and I know how it feels to get this news...there's nothing better.

PS. Just did # 19 of 24 tonight. :)
I think I can! I think I can! I think I can!
I also would like to extend my congratulations to you and your wife. That is an awfully heavy load to carry(been there) Thank god that the chance of infecting our partners is so slim. I very seriously doubt that my husband would still be with me had he caught hepc from me. Even though I got it because of blood transfusion due to a tubal pregnancy I believe that he would blame me personally.
I think that we are a rare breed. I kept being warned that I would probably lose weight. Never been heavy in my life and yet I have gained 25 lbs since starting tx. I hope we lose it as fast as everyone else gains when we are done with meds.
I have to echo OHC--and I am glad she is negative. Good luck with the tx--you can do it!
to all who lost weight-------i know where it went... i am small person around 6--4, and when i started tx only weighted 250 but now 1 year later the scale hates to see me coming cuz i have blooned to 315. so darn it people keep some to yourself.
aren't we lucky that the bug is not so easy to give to our spouses, having been married since 59. good weekend to all roy
Thank goodness. I dont think your wife would leave you over that, but she is Negative so we dont have to worry about that.
My husband takes his vows seriously and wouldnt leave me if I by accident infected him with HepC. We dont have children together, but that would be an even bigger glob of glue that would keep us together, "for better or worse, sickness and health", you/she had better realize that can mean some pretty HEAVY stuff on the plate. Best to you and your family, and hope all goes well for you.
mrbill: Congrats! Keep on the great work.
mph: When I started tx I weight 132lbs and when I stopped 108lbs. I looked like death. So eat up and drink juices w/calories. I've been off tx since September and I've gained 10lbs already. It comes back quickly.

yes ive heard the meds speed up metabolism. it did for me. of course my appetite went to zero and nausea can set in too. i went to the thinnest ive been ever. but gained it back after tx. was great to have appetitite come back and food taste good again. i had no reserve to start with which was bad. dont get too thin or you could be taken off tx. they said if i went under 101 i would have to quit. so weight was a major issue with me . good luck
Congrats to you mrbill. Glad to hear the good news.
Now, here's a question for everyone or anyone that has some advice. I lost 5 lbs the first 10 days of treatment. Was very active up til starting treatment; now only walk 2 miles 3X week. I am eating 2000 or more calories a day and still have only put back on 1 pound. Need to add about 3 more pounds back on. Eating like a horse and can't gain weight. That's new for me as I have always kept a food journal so that I could maintain my weight without gaining.
Do the meds speed up metabolism or I am just still not eating enough? Thanks for any and all advice.
