I use tylenol  ,but i use 500 mg  mabey  twice in 24 hrs .my dr also prescribed motrin 200 mg ,as needed . no tylonol is NOT good for your liver in large doses . this is just what MY docter said  . and you MUST check w them 1st . the motrin works ,but upsets my gut .  i smoke alot of BUD , but again ,this is just me ,it doesnt work for everyone . also hot showers or baths .  good luck

I mainly used Tylenol 1000mg two or three times in 24 hours max. Doc said this was Ok and also recommended the tylenol codeine combo which is an otc medicine.

If the headaches were bad I took 500 mg Panadeine (tylenol and codeine combo) but that was seldom and once I went to the hospital and they gave codeine phosphate because I was really in pain and quite distressed.

Hot/warm baths worked for me too. And lots of rest. I also used Zopiclone which is a sleeping pill that has a muscle relaxant in it.

I never used any of those drugs before treatment!

Best check everything with YR doc first.

I was told Tylenol, but do not exceed the recommended doses.  The hepatologist I went to actually said it is the best NSAID to take with liver problems.  The key is not to take more than the recommended doses.  I take the least I can get away with.

If you take anything even Tylenol, it may increase your liver enzymes.  Unfortunately it might not be good for your platelets.  I can't think of anything that is safe for you to take, maybe your doctor can.  Are you seeing a Heptologist?   good luck

These were the results of a quick google search:
- the bitter papaya leaf juice has got to be the most effective remedy for an almost immediate increase of platelet count (although it takes some effort to drink it up =)).
- Some also recommended patients with a low platelet count to eat beetroot, potato skin, red meat, apples and green leafy vegetables
-Necessary vitamins: Don't take any, use what you get from the above list

Here’s a link which tells us how to prepare papaya juice =):

Mary: Tylenol isn't a NSAID. Acetaminophen is in a class of drugs known as analgesics, and antipyretics.
NSAIDS or non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs have analgesics, antipyretics, and anti-inflammatories.

Jankar: Where do you live that tylenol codeine is an over the counter combo?

My hepatologist allowed me to take tyelenol with codeine.
I would never have made it to treatment with  the pain I was having.

I've had a couple experts tell me it was OK if need and you were not in liver failure.

I then got a  T.E.N.S. unit which has saved me from a lot of pain medicine.

Tyelenol 3 does require a prescription in the United States.
