possible connection with seizures

I was diagnosed with HCV when trying to donate blood in 1992, but didn't stop drinking until having an unexplained nocturnal tonic clonic seizure in 1998. I encountered a second episode roughly 45 nights later and results from EEG, CAT scan, and MRI still offered no clues. I would like to know if complications from HCV might have caused them.
