post 6 month pcr

I started tx sept 02. 1a, viral of 10 mill. Did 52 weeks peg intron and ribra, .5 and 1200mg. Finished sept 03, 6month post tx test,
UNDETECTABLE!!!! The old liver is back to normal! Alt and ast 24.
I am so Happy. Well what can I say, I know how hard this is for everyone, It was a ***** for me. I think I had most of the sides you could have. I wanted to give up a few times, but thanks to people like Indy,Galen,and all the others I kept going. I had good and bad days, I learned to sit out the bad days and enjoy the good ones. My whole outlook on life has changed. I now enjoy every moment! I don't worry about the small things anymore. I have three girls, and I am involved in everything they do. I am the soccer Dad! I know what today is, and I will Pray for all of you tonight. Keep up the fight, don't give up!

That is so encouraging to hear!!  I am on week 11/48 and already getting tired of same old feeling yucky on a day to day basis that sometimes I would love to run back to my old life and say no more meds!! haha  But then common sense kicks in and I do know I want this disease, beast, dragon,,,whatever out of my body and just keep praying that I will be through in a year like you!! Just doing my time and hoping its paying off!!  Thanks for coming back to tell us how much you are enjoying your new life!!

You did it...... It will take time to start getting back but I will tell you it does happen. I'm feeling stronger every day. I can now start exercising so I can get some of my body back in shape. You know it was hard and now the fun part for me was to throw away the riba bottle. And you now have room in the refrigerator for some goodies go ahead and use the space.

I'm also a 1A, did 20/48 last night of the Pegasys, still undetectable.  At a point now where I'm looking forward to doing shots.  That sounds rather masochistic, doesn't it?  Think I've had most of the sides you can have, but I'm gonna BEAT this thing so I too can fully be there for my husband, dear friends and family.  With the love and support from them and fellow heppers here, I feel the strength to move on even though I feel like crapola.

I'm so damn happy for you I could just spit.

That is great news! Congrats!! All of you who are here deserve a pat on the back for not only putting up with the Tx and Sx but offering so much support to fellow heppers.

I'm new to the forum but this Friday will be 24/48 of Tx for me. There seems to be a lot of positive clearing going on here. YES!

I notice some say that they were clear after 12 weeks. Is it standard to check for virus after 12 weeks? My GI doctor said to wait 24 wks to see if clear. That will be next week for me. I can't wait.

I have had some Sx but not too bad lately. Feel I can ride it out.

Anyway, Keep up the good work. I'm pulling for all.

Many drs do the 12 wk test to follow on Roche's recommendation.  An evr(clear or 2 log drop) is a good indicator( according to some studies) for svr, for genotype 1. You be well
