problems with teeth on tx

has anyone had problems with their teeth aching and feeling loose while on tx? i have never had problems before i have always had good teeth go to the dentist on a regular basis

I had aching gums, but thankfully no loose teeth (I would check every morning when I wake up) I am currently on tx and after a month and a half, my whole bottom row of teeth ached.  I thought I was getting gingivitis/gum disease.  I made an appointment with my dentist, but wasn't able to see her until a few days later.  In the meantime, I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth with Listerine after eating anything! Drinking ice cold water was a big help (temporary numbing affect). Once I saw the dentist, she gave me a deep cleaning (no gingivitis)- and within a few days or so, the aching disappeared.  Since then, I haven't taken my teeth/gums for granted!

I had lots of problems. 4 cavities, which is as many as I had in 45 years before that

I do what the dentist recommends for my teeth, soft tooth brush, floss once a day, brush twice a day.  I have been on treatment since december and am on shot 19 tomorrow.  I went to the dentist about a month ago, and was told I have either 7 or 9 cavities (can't remember the exact number right now).  I have  also noticed a sensitivity to cold currently, however, I recently had several of the cavities filled so it may be that as well,  I am pretty convinced the cavities are from treatment.

I have the aching and the feeling loose. I have discovered that it is because I keep clenching my teeth... even while I'm awake. I guess it is from the Riba... I don't know, but I have even noticed that my front teeth, both bottom and top have become smoother on the edges, which means I'm wearing them down I guess. I wonder if I'll have any teeth left in 43 weeks.(:-(

Treatment dries your mouth up.  Saliva is actually antibiotic, so the loss of saliva makes your mouth prone to infection.   IT is important to try to get the saliva going again.  I sucked TicTacs to do it.  Others use gum.  Many suggest Biotene as a mouthwash, but I didn't like the taste.

I told my dentist up front that I was treating and he made sure that my mouth stayed healthy during treatments.  I know a lot of patients avoid the dentist during tx but you really should not do that.
