I don't know about the Prozac, but if you are thinking of doing treatment for HepC it is better to lose weight, I think you have more chance of it working. How much synthroid (thyroxine) a day do you have to take? I got a damaged thyroid from the interferon and take 75mg a day but you must be on a much higher dose. I haven't put on weight from the hypothyroidism, luckily.

Can't post a question as the forum is full. Has anyone taken Effexor XR? I have a prescription, but I don't think I'm all that depressed, just emotional swings. I don't want to start on something like that if it's not necessary. Ideas anyone?

I don't take an AD either and hope I don't feel the need for one.  I usually let my husband be the judge of how irritable, depressed, etc that I am.  So far, so good.

Ask your spouse and good friends that you are around alot how they think you are doing.  Also, if you have been sleeping more than normal and sitting around not wanting to do anything else, that's a sign of depression.

I know I wasn't much help.  Try posting your ? again today or tomorrow and see if you get some better responses.

Good luck with your decision.

Effexor is ADDICTIVE.  Please throw away that prescription.  It is absolute horrifying hell to get off of.  Go to WWW.GOOGLE.com a search engine and type in EFFEXOR WITHDRAWAL. There are many websits devoted to people who are going through this and have gone through this. Many side effects take months to disapear. Please, please do not take this. P.S. Try Prozac, its not addictive at all and a very low dosage can be effective
