I HAVE HEP C AND HAVE BEEN TREATED, STILL HAVE THE VIRUS.  THE LAST 3 WEEKS I HAVE SWOLLEN FEET AND ANKELS, WHICH WILL NOT GO AWAY, AND ALSO THE BACK OF MY ACILLENS TENDON IS SO PAINFULLY I CAN HARDLY WALK.  BEEN TO THE ER 3X, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER TO WHERE THE PAIN IS COMING FROM.  I QUESS I NEED TO GO BACK AND SUGGEST A MRI.  I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT MONDAY BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP WITH TODAY.  STILL SWOLLEN AND IN PAIN..  I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.  I FEEL LIKE I WOULD BE A PAIN IN THE BUTT IF I GO BACK UP THERE.  BUT MAYBE I SHOULD.

Hi there; swollen feet an ankles (edema) can be caused by a variety of things; one of them can be advanced liver disease. Do you have cirrhosis?

I wouldn’t worry too much about being a pain in the heiny at ER; they’ve dealt with much worse, and they realize that you have no other resources available on Sunday. I’m not sure what they can do to alleviate the swelling, other than start diuretics if indicated.

I wish you luck today—

Bill
