I'm confused ! (again!!)  I understand that in the 1st 12 weeks if you don't drop at least 2 logs that they may discontinue tx. So if you do show a response and keep on tx are you sure it will remain throughout tx undetected and then after the year is up your next mile marker is 6 months and at that time it will be gone or back? If it is gone after 6 mnths. Is there a good chance it is gone for good? Is that how it works?

No matter how you get there, If you are undetected at 24 weeks post treatment you are considered cured.

You can be undetected at 12 weeks, or be a late responder and try extending TX to 72 weeks.

If you are a non responder there is no reason to stay on TX until PI's are commercial.

Yes you need a 2 log drop by week 12. If your und at week 12 then you tx a total of 48 weeks, the odds are very good you will stay und throughout the rest of tx. Then if your still und 6 months after tx you are then SVR (cured}, if the virus comes back before the 6 months after tx you will have relapsed.............. Best to you

So if you aren't undetected by week 12 do you stop tx or continue for 72 weeks?

If you have at least a 2 log drop and your undetected by week 24 then you should treat for 72 weeks, if your liver damage is not bad and your not und at week 12 you should talk with your doctor about waiting until these new PI's hit the market...........Good luck
