Hi Crazy.  Best of luck until we see you again!  Everyone here will help best they can when you have time to post your labs and ask questions.

Does your infectious disease doctor treat Hepatitis C?   If not, ask him to help you get under the care of a liver doctor who will manage and treat your Hep C.

If you ever get to the point you are having a hard time finding a liver doctor to see you (or if social services / health dept is not putting you in touch with a liver doctor) you can call and speak to a representative from Schering-Plough or Roche  (the makers of the two drugs that currently treat Hep C). Both places have patient assistance programs (they will provide the medications to you at no cost).  If you call them and tell them your situation, they can help you and give you the names of doctors in your area that will see you and enroll you in their programs.

Schering Plough phone number is:  1-800-521-7157

Roche's phone number is: 1-877-734-2797

i am hcv+ and i found out when i was pregnant. docs told me to test my baby around 10 months of age, but i had done my research online and the cdc said to wait until my child was at least 18 months old. the pediatrician tested her anyhow and she came back positive. i freaked out. i thought i had ruined my child. then i remembered that i should test her when she was older so i did and she tested negative. then i waited and did it again, neg. the baby will carry the moms antibodies till they are around 12-18 months. what a relief! good luck to you and let me tell you, the people here have helped me out and i don't even know them. this is one benefit of having this disease, the people who have been through this and are willing to help and be supportive. keep coming around!
