Fat! I'm not kidding.  Studies have shown that you can increase riba absorption by up to 70% if you take your riba with a high fat meal.  A regular meal with a little fat does nothing for you, it has to be a high fat meal (like 50grams or more or something ridiculous like that).
I have been adding things like pints of whole milk and tablespoons of peanut butter to breakfast and dinner.  I've still lost a bunch of weight, go figure.
I don't think you have to worry about your cholesterol while on tx either, it tends to go down while on tx, I'm not sure what the deal is with that, if anyone knows, please enlighten me.
You are not supposed to take a fiber supplement near the time you take your meds.
I shun grapefruit too.  There is something in grapefruit that messes with medication, so I'm not taking any chances.

Read the thread from Peridot.

Also, don't take fiber supplements with the Riba....it may capture it and wisk it right out of there!!!!    My doc also says to avoid citrus with it....assuming it may upset the tum tum.  Oh yea.....antacids...don't take those with it either....may nutralize somehow?
