rt-pcr test results

I just got my results back from lab corp for viral load. Hep C- Quantitation 1,190 IU/ml &
HCV log10    3.076  log10 IU/ml

I would like to know if this is low or high. I had just been stopped on my treatment for the second time due to enlarged spleen keeping my white levels too low. I have gen type 3. Was diag a year+ ago after a bleeding ulcer/transfusion. My doc said he would like to wait to start another treatment until some new therapies come out or he can get me in a trial.

sorry to read that you had to stop tx for the second time. I don't have an answer for you as far as tests results, but hopefully someone who knows how to read your result will have an answer.

wish you the best.

I have not treated.Did you have an enlarged spleen before TX?What was your platelet count?WBC count before TX?
Does anyone have an idea of the cut off point?
I'm sorry that you weren't able to continue with your treatment.

No your viral load is not high. 1190 IU/ml is low but you've been treating so I would hope it isn't as high as when you started treatment. The classifications of low, medium and high seem to change constantly but if you were starting treatment today your load would be considered low. I started with 6.85 million IU/ml and I have seen people here with 20 million IU/ml starting load. Mike
