Too Funny! Talk about appropriate :o)! You seriously made me smile, lady!
Just got back online, thanks to all of you!
Definitely agree with all of the above. Hope your boyfriend can educate his doc, and then fire him for bad advice ;).
So now you can relax and enjoy sex even with hep c by the light of the fullmoon...
I found a very appropriate picture ;).

Couldn't help myself. :)
btw, my cat's name is crescent moon. ~eureka
Hi, I was told by my hepatologist that there was a 1 in 3000 chance that my partner could get the disease from me, which is slim to nothing!! We've been together almost 3 years and don't use any kind of protection. He last week tested negative for the HCV virus.. Listen to the guys here, they know what they are talking about.. They have been my rock so to speak!! Good luck to you, and I wouldn't worry about a thing!! ;)
Moon, tell your guy to find a new doctor, as with the type of advices he gives out to his patients who knows what else he missed out on in his studies... :)
You guys are awesome and crazy at the same time : ) Just an FYI I'm in your 50-something group too!
Hahaha! I don't know about you, but I'll be sending her guy an invoice shortly for services rendered... :)
You know Bill that it should not go unnoticed that we are 50-something guys on opposite sides of the counrty giving advice to people that we would each like to follow in our own little worlds, east and west. We are a couple of sad saps. Meanwhile fullmon is giving a comley inviation to a guy that we don't know and who should be thanking us in a little while.
Or, you can read those distinctly unromantic studies and lose all the sensual expectations which would have the interruptus effect anyway. Stick with the dim lights, the Victoria Secrets line with the proper cutouts and play out the 9 and a half weeks scenes as usual.
Thanks for the information. You guys are great for picking up a girl's spirit and a great source for information. I'll stay in touch!
Hi there, Ms. Moon
Congratulations on entering the trial in Austin; I’ll be looking for updates from you down the road.
As FlGuy says, transmission is *very* rare among monogamous heterosexual couples; I suppose it’s possible, but almost never documented. I was likely infected around 18-19 years old, then married for twenty years. My (now ex) wife tested negative a few years ago, and we didn’t take any precautions whatsoever. The same rings true for most of us in here; I’ll link a study that I have saved; but there are many more if you look around a bit:

"Dipartimento di Medicina Interna, Universita di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy.
The risk of sexual transmission of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection was evaluated among 895 monogamous heterosexual partners of HCV chronically infected individuals in a long-term prospective study, which provided a follow-up period of 8,060 person-years. Seven hundred and seventy-six (86.7%) spouses were followed for 10 yr, corresponding to 7,760 person-years of observation. One hundred and nineteen (13.3%) spouses (69 whose infected partners cleared the virus following treatment and 50 who ended their relationship or were lost at follow-up) contributed an additional 300 person-years. All couples denied practicing anal intercourse or sex during menstruation, as well as condom use. The average weekly rate of sexual intercourse was 1.8. Three HCV infections were observed during follow-up corresponding to an incidence rate of 0.37 per 1,000 person-years. However, the infecting HCV genotype in one spouse (2a) was different from that of the partner (1b), clearly excluding sexual transmission. The remaining two couples had concordant genotypes, but sequence analysis of the NS5b region of the HCV genome, coupled with phylogenetic analysis showed that the corresponding partners carried different viral isolates, again excluding the possibility of intraspousal transmission of HCV."
Again, good luck with the upcoming study,
--Bill
Thanks, I needed that : )
I think the doc is tryin to convince your guy to stop having sex with you, for some ulterior reason. In a normal hetero monogomous relationship it not necessary except for birth control - absent any other connunicable diseases. My theory, the doc has you in his sights and he's trying to distract your guy. Watch out.
