short term disability

What sort of experiences are people having with short term disability claims?     Is HCV  treatment commonly being accepted by insurance companies?   Are the Doctors co-operative in filling out necessary forms?   Your experiences  and/or helpful tips appreciated.

Hi , I really don't know since I'm getting ready to file myself. My primary care Dr. told me that she would handle it, to just give them her name . She didn't see a problem. My job has short term (3 months) and long term after that. Once you go to long term they want you to file for ssdi even if you don't qualify they want you to file. My long term is indefinite, but pays a lesser amount once you get ssdi.

Hi Stonewall.  I went on diasbility after about 8 weeks of tx when it became clear that I could not practice law because of the severe side effects I experienced.  I had 3 months of short term and then it went to long term.  My doctor and my employer took care of all the paperwork and I did not have any problems.  The insurance company did not give me any trouble.  I was out on disability for a total of 50 weeks.

I hope your tx goes well, and also your disabliity claim.  Send me a pm with details if you need specific advice.

Good luck!
