shot 3 , almost thrown in the towel

i had a heck of a week. non stop upset stomach, heevin and heevin. i asked for reglen for my stomach and was given, but had a reaction. it made me awfully restless, and wanting to jump out my skin. thank GOD i had a klonopin near by to ease the jitters. its been really ruff with the nausea, dizziness, eyeball sensitivity, headaches. i was so sick, all week every time i tried to sip water, i would heev. i couldnt drink a glass never mind a gallon. so far, today aint too bad, a lil qeezy, but its early too. i told the nurse i cant do this but held out till my blood work came back. everything was ok, only a lil low. i hated to do it, but postponed all classes till jan. my money is being put for spring semester, startin jan 10th or somethin. i register for classes in nov.  i hope i feel better by then. i felt like i really let myself down by giving up scholl, cuz its my dream to be the first in many generations in my family to be a college graduate. i come from a long line of portugee fisherman who all quit schollat age 10 to suppport the family, lol. but anyway i hope all you guys are healthy and well.
GODBLESS

You see, when hubby took his first shot he thought that he was goin' die.

Soon, he realized that, unfortunately, he wasn't!

LOL!

Your reaction was good.  You had MAJOR DIE OFF!

Don't get discouraged,
Get MAD...
FIGHT!!!  ...AND WIN.

...AND by the way...I LOVE FISH!  ...and I love books!

Some people breeze though TX...some do not.

The sides get easier, but change. Next, you will develop Riba Rash... which is much better than Riba Rage.  You'll probably experience both.

Get a good attitude now...it might never be easier.

However, look to the finish line.

If you stop the hepC now...your liver WILL regenerate, and you will have a GREAT LIFE.

Put aside a year...what is a year?...compared to the rest of you life.

Fight depression.... determine that you will life to the fullest.

With all my heart,
Your,
Shebee

P.S.  you are a special person.

Oh, by the way...throw up and go on.
(This is crummy Shebee Advice, but you'll be glad you did)

Hang in there buddy! My first few weeks of tx was the toughest as far as feeling like a truck hit me. Now I just feel lousy but not the same way as I did those first few shots.

You CAN do it!

My first month was also not pretty. But by the second month it was mostly the depression, and now that's been taken care of with Celexa. Still very low in energy, but I am still working. Right now I'm bringing a customer live on new interfaces. (Yes, I'm in -- gasp! -- IT.)

Hang in there!

Sorry to hear the truck keeps hitting you but Keep going - you can do this.  Some good suggestions above, it should start to get better.  Your dream is great and you will be able to accomplish this after tx and make it reality.  I will keep you in my prayers.

Hang in!  It gets rough but you can do it if I did it.  I had a hell of a time on tx. Yes, you will have your dream of being a college graduate if you just hang in there now.  I identify with your hopes for the future.  I wanted to be the first to get a college degree in a long line of Native American Hopis.  But I'm too old and this time the tx really dulled my mind.  But you are young enough to get through this and an education.  God Speed in your recovery.  Keep us informed on how you are doing.  I've been off tx for 5 months and starting to feel better.  Please, don't quit tx.  A good friend of mine has had Hep C for years and never got treatment.  He died a month ago because he just couldn't deal with the tx and went off it.  We are all behind you here and will always be here for support.  This place helped me so much when I needed it the most.   **Hopiangel**

Mr Ill Bill (I liked that one Hopiangel)

Treatment can be and is pretty tough for some but for many sides become somewhat predictable and/or at least managable.  As far as school goes I had to go onto two years of Planned Educational Leave Program (PELP) which put my studies far behind....not gone just need to do some catchin up ( I did 100 weeks of treatment thus the reason for two year delay).  Given the problems you are having now I would consider looking at the programs similar to this which are offered at your school.  You do not want to lose your place being enrolled at schoool and you also don't want to struggle and possibley screw up your transcripts with a bunch of Incompletes or poor grades...you may need that transcript if you decide to continue on to an advance degree (assuming your a undergrad...which may be worng!).

Every school has a program in place to deal with situations such as this so please take advantage of it and make sure you have a place as an enrolled student once treatment is complete.  One thing you can still do is go and audit the classes you wish to take...attendence without the homework and tests...of course no grade goes along with that.  There is nothing which can stop your learning just make sure you aren;t going to be penalized for doing treatment.

you can do it!!

Please don't give up.  You can do it!!  God is with you!!  Don't be too hard on yourself about school.  There will be time for that.  Right now just get through this day.  Concentrate on right now and get through this minute and let God have the rest.  He will get you through.  I am determined to stay in the moment.  I started worrying about my next shot and had to reign myself in.  Only God knows what tomorrow brings and He has it and you in the palm of His hand.  Hang in there MrBill!!  We are here for you and will pray you through it!!  God bless you brother...

Sounds like you need a stronger antiemetic.  Tigan (as meandhepc suggested) or Zofran (which helps me) are both good ones. Sometimes ya have to nudge the doc a little.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Continue the battle......

Drink plenty of water, keep drinking and keep drinking. Call your doctor and tell him you can't keep anything down.  He will be able to get something for you that works and will be able to give you some comfort.

You definately don't want to 'throw in the towel' this early in the game.

My husband's favorite saying is "Just pluck one chicken at a time!"  Sounds to me like that's what you are doing.  Let the school go for just long enough to whip out the dragon.  You will need all of your energy and concentration to do the tx.  Once you get that done, go back full time to school.  You CAN do this!  Just pray and do one day at a time.  Keep talking to us.  It will help.  God bless!  Pattie

Graduating college is an admirable goal.I Didn't have the opportunity when I was younger but I did graduate when I was 32. School will still be there when you're ready. Hope you feel better.

I know you are overwhelmed and feel just plain yucky.....

I almost quit several times myself but hung in there and now am on my 13th month of tx and 'undetected' my last shot is Sept 20!

You hang in there, we are here for you on your 'bad' and good days, just get on here and yell for Help! We are Super-Heroes for each other.......

I found that keeping 'feel good' food close by (snack pudding, jello, ginger snaps and crackers) helped on the days I didn't feel like eating or had the heavers.....just a bite or two actually helps! I said "yea rite" when I read this one day when I was having a BAD like you are, but I tried it and it did help. You will get all kinds of suggestions on here and you will be surprised how they will help ya because they are from someone that feels just like you. My doctor prescibed me TIGAN for the nausea, it was the only thing that worked for me, I had a reaction from the Reglan as well. I use to hate Gatorade, but Orange Gatorade is my buddy now, it helps with the electrolites we lose and it makes a difference for me. Hope my rambling will help you some, reading your post brought back the same feelings I had that you are having now.  Don't throw in the towel! Use it instead to flick the dragon's butt with it!

Sorry to hear this Mr Bill.  You where my inspiration when I started.  Friday will be #2 for me. From what you keep saying I really don't know what to expect.  I hope it does get better for you. Question is did this only last for the night of the shot?? My 1st shot did not do anything till the next night and then it was over.  Hang in there please.  The overall battle to get rid of this virus is why you started in the first place.  Remember we are here and watching and praying for you to get better.

Your body will adapt somewhat to this stuff, so stick in there.

Believe it or not, Tylenol helped me with the nausea. Didn't do jack for my headaches or other aches, but took care of the sick stomach.
