skin cancer was malignant

The skin cancer I had removed on Fri. was malignant, but it was not melanoma. It was a very common type of skin cancer. Squamos cell carinoma, but the important thing is she got it all. I'm so glad. Once I realized what it was I HAD to have it removed TODAY. I'm so glad she was able to squeeze me in.

So sorry, but that is the "good" kind of skin cancer if you have to get it.  Glad they got it all and hope you are feeling okay.  Did you know the interferon we treat with is the same that they treat melanoma with?  Melanoma patients get about triple the dose we do and get it IV every few weeks.

Nice wording, we all do our worst when we get back to thinking we're responsible for the future of the universe. Our own present is big enough to deal with. It's the "mental masturbation" term that I really like but not sure how I'm going to use it!

I'm glad to hear you got good news with the bad news. You're fortunate to have a) had the type you do and b) she got the whole mass out. Two excellent reasons to be grateful to be heading for a full recovery from it. I've got a pal of mine who has been in remission with the same type as you going on 19 years now. He's active and healthy as a horse. Sometimes it seems like we keep getting hit with one thing after another but I know that my Guy(God) doesn't give me anymore than I can handle! And I've been hit with some pretty good ones. I'm fortunate not to take myself down any type of mental masturbations when it comes to issues of this nature. All I have to do is to do the best job I can do and than I sit back and watch the results. It's like this HCV thing; I'm doing the best I can do for it. I'm not in the business of arranging the future, I'm in the business of taking care of the present. It works a lot better for me like that. It's a lot easier for me now that I'm not in charge of the entire universe. You'll be in my prayer list, kiddo.  Thanx for posting.     Pauly

Thanks for all your kind posts. Pauly yours was extremely sincere. I feel the same way you do about doing my best but leaving all the results. That's the way I function too. The future is not in our hands.

It was a small growth. It was hard like a wart and I thought what a strange place for a wart, on the upper arm. It was white.

So sorry to hear....just what you don't need right now.

I had a malignancy removed on my back 75 stitches and a nice 5 inch scar for a just a "little tiny bump".  it made me realize when they say avoid the sun they MEAN avoid the sun cancer!

I hope it's in a nice place that nobody will notice and it doesn't give you any aggravation ever again.
