small cut?

So I have a small cut right on the cuticle on my finger. Can I still do my dishes? I'm just so scared about accidentally passing this disease on to my children. When I found out that I had it I cleaned my house from top to bottom with bleach. I guess that I'm so scared of this disease that I'm almost scared of myself. Please only positive responses, there's enough negative in my life. I just need someone who understands how I feel since I don't know anyone else who has hcv.

To make you feel better, most of us have lived with our families with this disease for 25, 30 years.  I have had it probably 30 years, raised three kids and been married.  No one in my family got it and we likely shared razors, nail clippers.. etc.  As Diane said, educated yourself and you will feel much better.

The best way for you to get rid of your fears is for you to learn all you can about hepatitis C. The Hep C Advocate web site has all kinds of info. The first thing you should read is how you can pass it to another person. In short form,.. the only way you can give it to somebody else is for your blood to get inside of somebody else's blood stream. If your blood dropped straight into another person's mouth, they wouldn't catch it because the virus couldn't survive going through the stomach acids. So, yes, you can wash your dishes.

Also, before cleaning so much with bleach in the future, you need to know that  chemicals are hard on your liver. Even if you wore gloves, which would have been a good thing, breathing in the fumes would put the liver at risk. The liver filters everything we eat, breathe, or absorb through our skin. Take care of yourself because your family needs you.
