Hi Sis,

There used to be a great site for info called Janis but it's gone now.:(

Stage 2 in today's rapidly changing world of treatment options to me means that you have time to wait for better treatments that should be out fairly soon.

If I were stage 3, I'd have a tougher time deciding whether to wait for the new protocols but a stage 2 in my opinion would be wise to watch and wait, IF a genotype one.

If you're a genotype two or three, I'd feel differently.

Which genotype are you?

Here's a link to another well-known and recommended site that I'm not personally familiar with:

http://www.hcvadvocate.org/hepatitis/factsheets_pdf/grade_stage.pdf

The fibrosis score is also assigned a number from 0-4:
• 0 = no scarring
• 1 = minimal scarring
• 2 = scarring has occurred and extends outside
the areas in the liver that contains blood vessels
• 3=bridging fibrosis is spreading and
connecting to other areas that contain fibrosis
• 4=cirrhosis or advanced scarring of the liver

Best,
Susan
