treatment for hep c

diagnosed 6yrs ago. liver levels continue to rise.  when is treatment a good idea

Hard question you ask. There are so many variables. Generally speaking, the younger you are with the lower your viral load, the easier it is to treat and get an undetected response. You should have a liver biopsy if you haven't had one in the last 3-5 years. Comparing biopsies is often used because if you do a few of them and you are not progressing, it may be ok to wait. Not every hep C patient needs to be treated. Some people never progress.If your enzymes are rising over time, it would be a marker that you may have started to progress. More info is needed to help you make the treatment decision.
