twitch like restless leg

noticing lately that when i relax to read or sleep different parts of body twitch like restless leg. it is mostly lower extremities but could be any body part. has me a bit concerned. i have not added any magnesium, potassium or calcium but i used to use this for leg cramps before tx.
i expect it is just another sx as i seem to have had most in a short 21 weeks. but if it is related to dopamine or other serious stuff i just wanted a heads up. thx

Get your thyroid checked. The medication can cause thyroid issues. If the test is low, then that is probably what it is!

I have the twitching too. My restless legs are more like I can't keep them still... but it is voluntary movement, not a twitch. Since I only have 4 weeks to go I'm just going to wait to see if it goes away on it's own. I've had my fill of doctor's appointments and trips to the lab. I don't know if that is the best advice for you but...............

whom are you addressing??
the only thing helping me is a small dose of neurotin, but then, it depends on what you mean by same thing, it's worth trying to get to the bottom and not just assuming.
If you are treating, the tx drugs can lead to these type reactions.
You'd have to PM me more details It may be there is an hcv connection to what is happening in my brain but that's a lengthy discussion that may disturb some people. PM me if you want more info on this.

I experience the same thing, so you're not alone.  Anything make it better?  Anything exacerbate the symptoms?

could be just minerals, but could also be something more serious, diebetic tremors, parathyroid tremors, a twitch can be anything from mild nerve conduction issue due to electrolytes that are out of balance, to a tumor on the spine, to brain plauqes...I know because it happened to me.  And in my case it was serious, but there's no reason to not start with a good blood work up.

Since you used minerals before tx your body is used to a higher level of calcium etc in the blood. The problem with most mineral supplement however is they don't absorb well, and they can contribute to kidney stones because they can raise levels beyond what you need, which will just make the minerals more likely to give you kidney stones, and since you are treating your kidneys have enough to deal with just handling the riba etc.

I would try drinking some warm milk before you go to sleep and see if that helps, if you get no relief you may want to see your doctor and discuss it. I'd say you could also try pediolyte or some other electrolyte drink and see whether this gives you relief. If it is possible, ask your doc to run a vitamin D test on you and make sure you aren't low on it.
If that goes too low then you cannot absorb any calcium, and that in turns leads to cramps twithches, and to bone loss as your body tries to get the calcium it needs when the gut won't absorb it.
In my case it was both brain demyelinization and parathyroid issues, which taking minerals and vitamin D make that worse. I had to have the tumor removed but it still didn't change the tremors due to the brain being under attack.
Hopefully your will be due to something simple.
If it is restless leg they have drugs for that, and yes, the dopamine and the GABA can cause these kinds of issues too.
You can also get these twitches if you were on certain drugs for any length of time.
Drugs like the benzo family, or benzo like drugs are the worst (valium, lorazempam, ambien, certain antidepressants,)  it's alwys best to read the fine print before taking stuff like that (things like causes permanent tremors with prolonged use) are good drugs to avoid.  Hope that helps.

41/48 weeks in tx and had same problem last night.
I have found it useful to stay mobile/active until going to bed helped me with the twitching and a tablet or two of Tylenol PM helped too.
If I sat & watched a movie then went immediately to bed, the twitching seemed to be worse.
Just my .02 - seems to be a common side effect

Oh, yes, bad leg syndrome.  It's more pronounced in the couple or three days after the shot, then tapers away.  Acetaminophen helps me.

It's not like a twitch so much for me, it's more like that feeling that we describe as when your "leg goes to sleep"--it's that tingling, electric feeling when the leg is waking up.  Not that dramatic, but definitely a kind of buzz in the legs.

Can't answer that one, but I had the same problem especially late in tx, mostly my legs. I'd be in bed reading with a bowl of something on my lap, then "twitch' off it went flying and making a mess of things. My most embarrassing thing though was with my hands. Once in while they would curl into weird positions that I couldn't do otherwise, kind of like those gangsta type hand things and they'd stay that way for many minutes. Seemed it usually happened after I had been driving and clenching the steering wheel for a time or after writing. I was just so tired of tx by that point that I never pursued it and thankfully it went away post tx. No answers, but know you're not alone with it, if that helps at all......
