There is autoimmune hepatitis and Hep C. Usually you are checked for that when Hep C diagnosis is made. Im surprised you werent.

You can google AIH to get ore info I dont know all details except  your body attacks itself.....sort of like a Lupus situation but with the liver.

Hope you are seeing a good hepatologist they are on top of things.

Two conditions; autoimmune hepatitis and hepatitis c (not really autoimmune hepatitis c).  Yes, it's possible to have both.  Over the years a few people posting here have reported as having both. A tricky situation in that the treatments for each, in general, are opposite.  In one, stimulate the immmune system and the other supress it somewhat.  See a very experinced doc for the right diagnostic tests.

Dr is checking for cause viral 4 weeks after tx was only 91 and then 1 week later my ast and alt are in the 200's.. iam so made at this devil attacking me.. I feel great and plan on living a long life to aggravate my kids and grands..LOL.. Iam a postive thinker..
