viral load questions

Just got results from HCV RNA...what exactly do they mean in reference to viral load interpretation?  I am GT 3a apparently.

Heptimax (R) HCV RNA   466,000 IU/mL

Heptimax (R) HCV RNA  5.67 LogIU/mL

Also wondering about Actin Antibody (IGG) .  It came back at 29 U.

And one more question .  My vitamin B12 level was 1610...so was wondering if I should keep supplementing that.  If so, is sublingual more beneficial than pills?

the viral load of 466,000  I/Uml is the same as  5.67 log   just expressed in different terms.

The normal ref. range for Vit B12 is 200 -900 pg/ml   so yours is slightly elevated so I don"t think you would want to be supplementing it until you talk with your doctor about that..
And the IGG  is  one of the immune system markers and I am not sure of the 29 reading   .

With geno type 3  the chances of SVR are approx. 75 %  with the combo of Peg/Riba

Thanks for your input.  My doctors appt. is not until 10/25 and I didn't want to wait that long for some answers to my many questions.  I also received a copy of the results of my sonogram and am currently trying to figure that out compared to the one I had a year ago.   Thanks again for the response and the encouragement as to the treatment of GT 3a.
