If you want to get rid of chronic Hep C you have to do treatment.

Should have read:
...2,852,000 IU/mL is a rather AVERAGE viral load;...
PCR test results are often expressed in logarithm format; this is likely the ‘LOG’ number you’re seeing— it’s an easier way to handle large numbers. Expressed numerically, this value equals 2,852,000; and it’s also likely they are using IU/mL.
2,852,000 IU/mL is a rather viral load; but as mentioned above, doesn’t necessarily correlate with disease progression or severity. This is typically addressed via liver biopsy; if significant scarring is present, then the need for treatment becomes more urgent.
Good luck, and welcome to the discussion group,

by 6.455 do you mean viral load test or your antibody test , if you didn't have PCR (viral load test) then you should have one , also you should have liver enzyme test , and liver sonography will give some good information about how your liver is doing , keep us updated ,wish u all the best
The amount of your viral load doesn't have much to do with whether you need treatment or not. All factors combined need to be considered prior to starting treatment= tx. Read around and ask alot of questions so that you get some knowledge on the subject, you'll be glad you did. It's best to learn about how your blood tests work in the whole scheme of your HepC progression. Since you think you've had HepC for 22yrs then it's time to get on the stick and find out what your next step is. I would get a liver biopsy to determine how much liver damage there is. good luck
