was wondering

Hi everyone....been awhile since  i have  been  on.MY husband is having  a  Ct  scan  on  June 7 because they said  his blood test showed  a very   high  reading of  a  tumor, has anyone else ever have this happen to them., maybe it could be  a false reading hey. I think it's the alpha feta protein test. I had that scare a few years ago but fortunately they were wrong.

One doctor told me that you don't get tumors until you are at stage 4. What stage is your husband? I hope everything will be fine and it is a false reading.
You can get a second opinion. Best wishes for you and your husband.

Are they doing a CT scan or an ultrasound?  I had a mildly elevated AFP a couple months ago & had an ultrasound immediately.  I think the values for AFP range from 0 to 7.0 as "normal" as measured in I.U.'s, 0 to 15.0 "normal" in n/g, but a reading indicative of tumors would be around 100+ in I.U.'s or 500 in n/g.  Good luck!

My husband is stage 4 they said  his liver is on the  edge, the doc said could  go anyway and  he said if it goes  to stage 5 liver failure  there is nothing they  can do  cause livers are far  and few between and he also has hip  c genio type 1....we went to  his doc  yesterday  cause we had some conserns of the  lumpon  his left side  near his nipple and  the  cramping  in legs and  hands He  said if nothing   showed on aurasound  not  to  worry   unless some surprises show up  he had an  aultrasound  about three to  4 months  ago.Just have to wait  and see i  guess ..ty  for  helping  me  with my  questions you  guys  are a  big help  i  have been  doing alot of  reading  on   here  am blessed for this site ty  again
