After thinking about it for a while it seems that I have an easier time remembering discussions around things like monkey sex than potential vectors for hcv.  You can see where my head is.

My doc said it is very possible to get Hep C from rhogam (prior to the screening for Hep C).

Quite a while back there was a member who did a bunch of reasearch on the rhogam connection.  I think she was pretty convinced that it was how she came by hcv.  I forget who it was.  But, she was pretty adamant based on her self-education on the matter.  She may have also referenced a Europe-specific situation.  Don't recall specifically, years make me fuzzy.

NO unfortunately they didn't even really discover Hepc until after that.  Back in the day it was called nona - nonb but I think that was much after the years you are talking about.

I too think it was about '92 that they started screening for it. And remember even today there is always the opportunity for human error with things.

I don't think blood was screened for hep C until 1991 or 1992.  In 1993 I received a letter from the blood bank saying my blood tested postive for the antibody.
