hello, i am a 2b that just did my 4th shot of 24. i really only felt flu=like with the first one. since, i get more headaches a day after each injection lasting for a couple of days. i seem to get nausea 3-4 days after the shot lasting for 1-3 days.  it seems to vary so much with each individual.  the fatigue/weakness is there all of the time. i am not sure which side effect comes from the shot and which comes from the pills. i am just now getting a rash on the tops of my hands and fingers, yippee! i'm sure more people will cime in with their stories. it's nice that your hubby has your support. we can be very irritable and discontent on this tx. good luck to the both of you!

hi headlines. yes the sx can be tough. i've had rash, cognitive slowing & memory problems, fatigue (not tired but just lack of energy), sleeplessness, constipation/ cramping/ bloating, taste changes, headaches w/ light sensitivity, uncharacteristic crabbiness, wt loss, etc. amazing my wife puts up w/ me. just took shot 27/48 friday. i get a break / some letup from the nausea about once every 3 weeks or so for about a day (have tried various anti-nausea meds & none help). that day keeps me going. last thurs eve i actually felt hungry & ate 1/2 a chicken wrap (i'm usually just able to eat stuff like mac & cheese or danishes). i've found that going to a massage therapist really helps w/ body aches & general mood (although the effect is temporary & it isn't cheap, it's worth it, i can afford one every 2-3 weeks). i take mirilax every day for the gi symptoms. for the insomnia i take  ambien (gotta take it on an empty stomach for it to work & it only lasts about 4.5 hours. i also drink lots of water (about a gallon / day), as instructed by the doc). good news is that i quit caffeine (used to be a coffee hound, but now even the smell makes me want to throw up). everybody is different & the sides are unpredictable & mine dont seem to correlate w/ when i take my shot. (although they did for the 1st 2 weeks. but you know what? it's all worth it & there is light at the end of the tunnel. aquarious is right, everybody has a story. glad i was able to write about this & get it off my chest. thanks for posting, hang in & good luck!

The shot can affect you anywhere from not at all to every day of the week. It depends, the meds affect everybody differently.

It can also change. In the beginning, I had side effects start about 12 hours after the shot each week. then for awile it took a whole day to hit, then a few months it hit two days later.

Lately, it hits me about 6 hours after the shot. Weird stuff. It seems like each person has their own experience with it.
