There is some idea that the virus may not be completely gone from the liver cells.  That''s called occult HCV and the virus is thought to be in an inactive form, too weak to replicate.  There has been a lot of discussion about occult (hidden) HCV but I'm not sure if anything has been absolutely proven, at least not enough to worry me.  To be on the safe side, avoid steroids and other immunosuppressive drugs at least until you get your SVR declaration at 6 mos. after EOT.  I may avoid them for longer than that and have told any doctors that I deal with regularly not to bother to prescribe them for me.

i want to thank you for your comment a dr. put me on predisone pack for belspalsey for like a week but that was the only steroid.so you are saying to aleast be careful for least 6mos after tx?

I did read that somewhere about the 6 mos. time span post TX but did not save the link.  It makes sense not to rock the boat.  I'm sure that your immune system is so jazzed by the interferon that a week of prednisone was fine.  The steroid info only refers to oral (goes throughout your body) not things like injections into joints or topical use.
