I play some of the memory games on MSN games for memory exercise.
I did buy one of those LiLReminders. 3 weeks later when I found it in my top drawer, there was one message on it.
It was me saying "I'm putting it in top drawer" :p
I use to know, but forgot. (jk)
Try a B Complex vitamin. Take 1 to 2 per day. 100 MG. This works for me.
Please google "B Complex" to find out for yourself.
Thank you for your information. I'll be looking into the supplements through my doctor and research the product. This class has a lot of material. I won't bore you with it, but it has legal descriptions, mathematical equations a lot of memorization. 4 chapters each week. there is practice test at the end as well as hand outs. every 2 weeks we are tested. then you are required to only miss one class or you have to re take over again. there is also a state boards exam. I will start reading a chapter every day, and for 2 days I will do review. I'll just have to take the extra effort to make time for this. One day a week is mine to do nothing! Highlighters are in process.
thanks. I will look into this and see what the doc says along with maybe a comparative. any other ideas are most welcome. willing to try anything that won't harm my tx.
lol LoL that was too funny! I laughed and I laughed and I died. I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing with you. I was thinking of supplements not recording devices, although I do have one somewhere. I think I lost that too!
LOL
hey everyone check it out and get a good laugh! Just make sure you go pee first.

Hi There! I wish I could help with your question, but I forget the answer LOL
Actually, when I have alot on my plate such as things to do, I make notes for myself, that way I can't forget...trouble is...remembering to make the notes and then where I put them!
E
i can relate! i have small kids and they keep getting invites to birthday parties and i keep them by my purse on the kitchen counter to remember them. however, i just missed my neighbors handbag party a month ago and then her son's b-day last saturday even tho the invites were staring me in the face! go figure. i am doing #10 tonite or 11, can't remember. i am getting very forgetful. i put things in places and then forget where i put them. i backed into a car the other day, i have a huge truck and i didn't even feel it, i was getting ready to leave the parking lot and this kid says, where are you going you hit my car? i said, no i didn't, blah blah blah. nothing but a minor fender bender. then i almost backed out into my neighbor's car yesterday. i may have to stop driving altogether. try punching your husband's cell phone # into the microwave keypad!!! now that's bad. good luck, i hope the brain fog improves. at least sometimes it gives me a good laugh!
The Newsweek that hit the stands yesterday has a good article on how physical excercise helps the brain. Try getting out for a brisk walk in the early mornings. I walked through most of my tx. I did get bogged down about half way through and quit for awhile but started back up slower with a shorter path. Towards the end of tx I felt more like I was shuffling, not walking but it did help, I think. Anything helps.
I keep a notepad with me at all times - even before I was on tx. The only problem is really remembering to write things down - as stupid as that sounds.
Hi Missy,
I completed tx in June 2006. Currently, I am virus free but my short term memory is poor and I suffer through brain fog at times. These problems are major hurdles because I work in Information Technology (computers).
Combatting Memory Loss;
I write extensive notes that I can reference.
I walk in the mornings but it wears me out so my morning is wasted. I have changed my walking to the evenings so hopefully I can get more done during the day.
I tried Ginkgo Bilboa but my feet swelled so after two days I stopped taking it. Check it out, herb to promote mental focus.
Now, I am trying another herb CoQ10 Gels (Healthy Origins) which is supposed to facilitate the production of cellular energy. I have only taken it for two days so I have no conclusions to make.
Good Luck and GOD bless you!
With "My Lil Reminder" I don't have any experience. I just think it's funny the way they make a tool that is targeted at the elderly market seem childlike - The "Lil" part gets me every time. With memory problems I have a lot of experience. I treated HCV for a very long time which caused some problems and then I suffered severe head trauma from a motorcycle wreck. I have forgotten more than I know but at this point I don't really care. I just say to people "I had a bad wreck and forgot a lot of stuff so I have no idea who you are or what you're talking about". That usually takes care of it. Mike
i had a lot of frustrations with memory, even just remembering peoples names. this is embarrassing because i facilitate a class. i got through it and eventually remembered names, most of the time.
i would suggest you try to study your material with more frequency, but in a relaxed state. i know that seems odd, i had a professor say read while your watching t.v. but i did eventually try this after many years of isolating myself to study... and it does work.
read the chapter first without any worry of details to remember, even if just skimming. listen to lecture or go over lecture notes, what is the focus on? is it multiple or do you have to write an essay
ask the prof. specifically what will be on test so you can prepare.
if you reveal a disability to school, you may get disabled student test taking options which usually involve being given more time for tests. etc..
My memory came and went many times duing treatmejnt. I kept notes everywhere and calendars for appointments. I put reminder rings on my cellphone when I had an appointment in case I forgot to look at the calendar. Those things helped. Sometimes, I would be talking and forget what I was talking about mid-sentence, now that was bad. The only thing I could do abut that was laugh it off. My 48 weeks ended in August and my memory is back. Hang in there.
sorry, your post was so funny. i don't know if you meant it to be. i find myself appologizing for memory loss all the time.
i think we will all have to burn new paths in the brain
i am 10 months post tx and someone told me what to do for memory loss but i forgot? what was the question? milk thistle or pcr? anyhow good luck.

omega 3 (fish oil, capsules or liquid)
im in week 32 of 48, have similar memory problems and also some cognitive slowing, but they have improved over the course of tx. if i'm learning new material, i highlite the important stuff and have to repetitively review it. it also helps if i verbalize the important points when reviewing it, concentrating with my eyes closed. if there are practice tests or review questions included in your materials, those could also be of much help in your review. my reading speed and comprehension are about 80% of normal for regular reading (magazines, newspaper) now and about 60 percent for technical/ complicated stuff like journal articles. best of luck, i know you're in a difficult situation with your classes. if it doesn't work out for now, at least they will let you take the course over for free. by that time you will be well into tx and likely to be better, and/ or developed good coping/ compensatory strategies for the memory difficulties. but whatever you don't give up your dream! best of luck to you.
"I just say to people "I had a bad wreck and forgot a lot of stuff so I have no idea who you are or what you're talking about".
ROTFLOL! Yeah!
Missy,
I tried the link coz i wanted to laugh some more but couldn't get it to load.
I WOULD try writing notes to myself but I can never find any pens coz both my amazon and my quaker steal them and hide them from me.
I could never find any pens pre-tx. Now it's a mission in futility. And i swear they do it on purpose, like they're enjoying tormenting me.
Good luck with your class. I'll bet you're doing far better than you're giving yourself credit for.
thanks, I'll look into it, but do you have any experience with this?
There's always "My Lil Reminder" which you can purchase here:

Looks like I'm in trouble. It's a real estate class very difficult. More so than I thought. I was just so good in college (never finished). The last thing I thought of was I'd be loosing my mind. This was to be a regimen to a new career. I just can't do the physical labor anymore. I'm getting older and now with the disease PLEASE! I also had planned to continue my education with a bachelors degree in business. My husband is going to love this. Well, I'm not giving up. If anything I'll give myself a good laugh. I've warned them that I would possibly be having problems with tx, they have told me I could re take the class with in a year for free. The only problem is I'll still be in tx. What ever! The family (4dogs,2 cats, cockatoo, husband and 4 children) we'll just live in the rv. lol
I just thought maybe something was on the market. A miracle drug to help improve memory. Something that someone had experienced, that works. No bs placebos. never had the problem before, until now.
wishing I had a (my) brain!
