what kind Alberta Blue Cross insurance can cover Cost of HCV Treatment?

I have lived in Alberta in Canada. I have the Alberta Health Insurance, but the insurance doesn't cover any medicine. I'm worry I may infect hepatitis c, before I do HCV test, I want application for Alberta Blue Cross Non-Group Coverage. I like to know what kind Alberta Blue Cross insurance can cover Cost of HCV Treatment?

   Hi there.Just wondering why you are worried about treatment costs ,when you have not yet been tested for HCV.

You would have to call   one of these no. at Alberta Blue Cross and ask  about their costs and policies for this....if needed.

Rosie, I don't know if you qualify for the Alberta Adult Health Benefit - this does help with prescription drug costs.   The only qualifier for this is what your level of income is. Here's the information.

Beyond that, I think Alberta Blue Cross will give you coverage if you had HCV but you'd pay higher premiums - they have "medically reviewed" and "guaranteed issue" plans. The guaranteed issue plans are likely available without a medical and you pay higher premiums.  I think you're going to have to call and ask what is a "medical review", ask for rates for both types of plans and take it a step at a time.  

Also wondering why you think you're potentially going to test positive for Hep C?
